Question about HP Mini Notebook

2 Answers

I may have a virus but usually it waits until when i listen to my windows media player & within 10 or 15 mins after my pc makes a weird repetative thud noise (like a virus) and im forced to hold down my power button to restart. i was thinking corrupted file attachments from email but i was protected by a disc i bought with protections. but when i was working offline my protection program turned off some layers of protection then it started doing this noise. id like to know how to diagnose this problem.\r\n Also, I had forgot my password one time and my buddy did something to it and now when i startup my pc it always goes to this backdoor or whatever 1st. its a black screen which authorizes another password input and then the regular sign in page comes up to log in. or it logs on for me instead of the regular 'OWNER' log in pg

There is no VIRUS sound
Virus can and do everything under the SUN wrong.
think , what vandals in your home could do?, well anything.
its the same here, (for sure)
why not re-joad windows fresh install !!!
no mini notbook stated of the vast made
no OS stated, XP? /vista/w7/w8/w10 ?what?

go to HP.com
the go to your unstated mini page
it asks for real model numbers or you cant do this.,
the service tag is the correct thing to read.
then you go to the page for doing a
restore install.
or buy the install media.... what ever form that takes,

always ave the OS media kit ready
or you will go broke paying for service.
here is the starting page

fact to, no protector disk no earth can protect you from you clicking attachments, NONE ON EARTH
only YOU CAN STOP THAT,
do it only on JPG files and text (*.jpg , *.txt)
or do it never. most PC's hide the extensions,
in mail like this. (not my pc)
newsflash (is really newsflash.exe) boom infected.
in windows, turn on file extensions (views) to be safer.

SOURCE: i may have a virus

Follow the given steps to remove virus from your PC:
1. Keep your antivirus program up to date.
2. Turn off System Restore.
3. Use an online scanner.
4. Use the Malicious Software Removal Tool.
5. Manually remove viruses.
The first step is to identify the virus. Run your antivirus software to identify the name of the virus. If you don't have an antivirus program, or if your program does not detect the virus, you can still identify the virus by looking for clues about how it behaves. Write down the text in any messages displayed by the virus or, if you received the virus in e?mail, write down the subject line or name of the file attached to the message. Search the antivirus vendor's website for references to those specific things you wrote down to try to find the name of the virus and instructions for how to remove it.

The sound on my firefox browser is low but when I listen to Window media player, it is very loud.

Try following solutions, if it works for you

To switch between speakers and headphones on Firefox,
make sure your headphones are plugged in first,
Right click on volume on the bottom right corner of your screen,
Then select Volume Mixer,
then double click on System sounds,
Click on the playback tab,
then you could switch between speakers or headphones, just select one and click "set default" and OK
only sounds in firefox will play in the headphones,
and windows media player will play on the speakers

You could leave your windows media player to play on the speakers while you listen to firefox videos in the headphones

If you want the media music player to play in your headphones also;
You have to change it in the media player program,
go to options on the media player, then look for playback devices, there should be 2 options speakers and headphones,
just pick one

I usually set the firefox audio to my headphones,
and a media player to the speakers

Please rate & vote if you like solution...

Thanks

Poor sound quality

Many laptops have very small tinny sounding speakers built into them. If you wish to get better sound you can hook it up to a set of external speakers through the headphone port (or line out if it has it). You may also be able to get a set of USB powered external laptop speakers for your laptop.

You can check that there isn't dirt covering or stuck in the speaker grill, and that you don't have the volume too loud that it's overpowering the speakers.

Hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa!
