MAYBE IT BLOWN THOSE FUSES , CHECK TO SEE IF THEY DID .
It sounds like to me that when the switch was replaced - a short circuit my have happened ( ? ),, it happens from time to time,, I would check the fuse box and look for a blown fuse or two blown fuses. normally the radio has it's own fuse and the heater has it's own fuse,, but on a car that old you never know when someone has fixed something / back yarded something,,, I would start with the fusebox first. if the fuses are ok, then trace the power lines ( positive and negative ) from the radio and the heater and see where they conect to or not conected to.
let me know what you find out --- I can help walk you through the next steps after that.

Take it back to whoever done it ?? the radio i understand ,hes left a wire off but the blower is coincidental i think
Make sure your fan is working properly. When you turn on the heater you are forcing the fan to cool the radiator. It may not be turning on automatically when it is supposed to. Let us know if this helps..
