Probably your mouse pad module gets wet or is damaged. I recommend to bring it to your nearest service center to save your laptop for further damage.

It is complicated to open your laptop. but if your really want to do it your self, you can check out on youtube about opening your laptop and changing mouse pad module.

good luck!

Touchpad settings: right click on the touchpad icon on the Taskbar at the bottom right of the screen. Click on Default button, then Apply, then OK. Re-try. If that doesn't fix, then TouchPad ribbon inside the laptop needs to be replaced.

Try reinstalling the touchpad driver.
You can download the touchpad and device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: -

If your new adapter is not compatible with your Acer Aspire in voltage and current, your laptop maybe can't work well. Check your new adapter and ensure if it is the same with the original adapter.
