Hi
That password is a system password for your computer (setup password). you need to call toshiba to reset the password and they will give you a code to reset it.

If your notebook asking you a password while you turn it on, probably someone is set your basic input output system(bios) configured to prompt for a password. There are two ways to clear your systems password 1. is you have to guess for the password 2. you have to clear the cmos or bios settings by removing your cmos battery from your motherboard for about 10 seconds. Then put it back again then on your computer. That's all have a nice day!

SOURCE: power on password for toshiba TE2100 laptop

Is this before the system gets into windows or is this a Windows Password? There are two Types of Passwords, The normal Windows one, and A BIOS system that will not allow you onto the System at all. There are two ways of fixing a BIOS password, 1). (and not all that common) There is a Master BIOS password that will reset all other passwords, This will take some research on the internet to find, But If you can find this, It will fix the BIOS password in no-time. 2). Remove the CMOS battery FOR 30 Seconds to 1 Minute. This may be a bit more difficult on a Laptop, But if you cannot get to it, Bring it into a Store, Most people will do this for little to no charge. Removing this Will reset the BIOS to default, So make sure you copy all the Settings so you can put them back to normal Before doing this.

Now if this is a Windows Password, you have no choice but to bring this in, Most Stores do have programs that Can Change the .SAM file. This isnt easy to do, So I would let a Professional do so

I can't clear the bios password on Toshiba Te 2100. Have removed the RTC Battery. Pse Help

Toshiba BIOS passwords cannot be removed by taking out the BIOS battery. You need to construct a piece of hardware.

TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE

You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.
Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector

http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

1-5-10,
2-11,
3-17,
4-12,
6-16,
7-13,
8-14,
9-15

Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

Toshiba TE2100, Sreen flashes rapidly on and off, If I tap it on the side, it stops flashing, bu intermitently starts again. Seems lide aloose connection in the wiring to screen, as computer will still...

Sounds like you are correct about the loose connection. There is a thin ribbon cable that powers the monitor.

You will have to download instructions for taking your laptop apart, but once you do, simply reseat the ribbon cable. That should fix it! Good Luck.

Computer flashes light sequence when powered on but does not work at all.

Its the battery which is gone bad. It usually has a small chip infront of it and when it gets bad, then the power microprocessor detects it as a fulty battery and keeps the LED labelled battery below it blinking at 0.5 secs intervals. I still had the same problems and when i replaced the battery, then it was back online. If you want the POST technicals then google the following "Toshiba TE2100 blinking lights" Thats what i did

TE2100 FLASHING SCREEN

Hi all,

This problem happened to me also but luckily I fixed it.

1) Check to see if you still have the screen displaying something. it might be faint as the back light may not be on.

2) If you can still see something there then it's either the backlight tube or the inverter.

3) Out of the 2 it's most probably the inverter which powers the backlight tube.

I did it for my laptop and it works a treat. Good luck
