It is possible that the CPU fan is spinning too slow which allows the CPU to over heat and restarts you're system. (A safety feature for all MB's). Or the CPU fan has built up too much dust. Try cleaning the CPU fan with canned air and a clean paint brush. Try to free the dust from the under side of the fan blades with the paint brush. You can also add a case fan or two. This will supply more fresh air and help keep the MB and CPU cooler. If you're MB is five years old or older it is a good idea to replace the thermal past between the heatsink assembly and the CPU. If you decide to replace the thermal past spend a little more and replace the heat sink assembly too. Socket 423 replacement; http://www.directron.com/cck7015.html#caption

Good luck!

PXE-E61 media test failure on Acer Aspire 5050 laptop

Yes, your analysis of the problem is correct. The problem could be with the hardware & while you are trying to reinstall the Windows OS, the software checks on all hardwares before installing. The best solution would be to take your system to a nearest service provider & get the problem rectified. Once the problem is rectified by them, try to reinstall the OS along with them, so that if there is any other problem apart from the above they will be able to help you.

Try deleting all the partitions and perform the complete format instead of the quick format. Maybe this will help you.
