Question about Dacor Epicure ERD36 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Dacor dual fuel range (ERD36SBK): Electric oven coil and broiler does not go on, but the control panel on the front of the oven looks like it everything is operational. There are no codes showing. When I press the bake button and input 350 temp, the fan goes on, and the display says "135 pre bake". The coil for the gas (propane) broiler lights up... and that is all I get. Could this be a relay board, even though there is no code showing there is a problem? Appreciate your help.

It could be the oven ignitor which is located under the heat displacement shield if you have a voltage meter or a multimeter do an ampere test should first shut the gas off next locate the oven ignitor or bake ignitor and you will see two wires that go to the ignitor clip around one of the wires should be reading 3-3.3 amps any less then this and the oven will not light even if it read 2.9 it would still be a weak ignitor and need to be replaced because it would not be lighting the gas when it was supposed to check your oven ignitor and message me back with your finds And please remember when our chat is concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again and Happy New Year

if the bake is run by electric then you would have to do continuity tests on the element then remove the rear panel and assure that you are getting power to the element if there is no power to the element then you would folow the wire to the board and inspect if there are any discolorations on the board in that area simply put the power goes in where is it stopping this is what you need to find out and i do suggest if you are not electronically inclined please call a technician if you have the element on the bottom instead of the gas thanks again

My electrolux dual fuel range had to have the control panel replaced within the first 6 months, now it is out again, this time not under warranty and will cost me about $800. Has anyone else had this

Hi katnbiff - This is typically something that a professional would need to diagnose. Possible causes could be a faulty EOC (electronic oven control), thermostat, or an oven sensor.

Sounds similar to what mine is doing.
Since Dacor uses the gas broiler to preheat the oven, the problem is that the lower heating element isn't getting power.
I took out the element and verified that the element is still good, but no AC voltage coming from the relay board to the element.
Try setting on the Pure Convection mode - it will probably heat up and hold the temp fairly well - that still doesn't do any good if you need to bake something covered (convection modes are useless for covered container..

Once you replace the oven control again....never use self clean on any oven....unless you want to replace parts.
Before you replace the control...look inside the control panel for a resettable thermal fuse.

ERSD36S09 Dual Fuel Dacor; broiler doesn't work

I had a similar problem. My broiler wouldn't light but the igniter was glowing. It turns out this igniter has to glow virtually white hot. If it's red or orange it probably needs replacing. I bought a new one from Appliance Parts Pro's. However, when I look at pictures of these things they all look exactly the same. My guess is all appliance manufacturers use the same unit.

To change it on the Dacor you need to pull off the back panel. Loosen the unit inside by removing the screws and shake the wires so someone else can see which ones. Disconnect the wires from the connectors and tape a piece of thickish string to it. This allows you to pull it out from inside the oven and have a way to get it back in past all the little turns and corners. My replacement had bare ends so I cut off the old connectors and soldered them to the new unit. However, I would guess you could use wire nuts instead.

ERD30S- oven wont turn on

Hi! jpdufilho
Try tuning off the power to the unit for 20 minutes. If this does not fix the problem you may need a new control board/panel. If you have a lot of lightning in your area you should have several surge protectors in your house. All electronic devices need some type of surge suppression.

Electric range control panel dim

They pretty much are what they are. I've seen many failures of this type on dacor wall ovens that result in having to replace the display board, but must admit I've never seen it on their ranges. Chances are thats what you're going to have to do as well. Not what you want to hear, but replacement is probably your only option. Good luck!
