Hello theresa,
Are you saying the board in back of the touch pad has split in half? Just need some clarification on this and a couple of other things Does the touchscreen light up at all or is it dark as if no power is going to it? this is sounding like the main power board has went south for the winter is your fan also not blowing as well sometimes this can be fixed by just replacing the control board other times you also need to replace the fan element as well In my opinion if this is the case then you should call for a technician this way they can diagnose if it is just the control board or both usually it is just the power board but if they order the new control and the fan does not work then this is also what you would have to replace Message me back with any further questions that you may have And please remember when we conclude this chat to rank how this opinion has helped I am currently online and I await your reply and Happy New Year
Rick

Hot air blowing out at the top of De Dietrich oven, just after putting on new oven seal, fan seems ok what could it be.

Pending on the location of the oven (i.e. not where the seal is) it could be natural ventilation of the oven. Many ovens have ventilation underneath the stovetop.

Help! my Pyroclean De Dietrich oven is about 8 years old and the fan option has...

Before you choose to run you oven in the “Self Clean” mode be sure to read this.
After viewing many hundreds of range and oven problems there is one constant theme that comes through. “After running the self clean feature” on my oven I have this problem or that problem. Whether the oven is gas or electric does not seem to matter. The common thing is that the self cleaning feature was just used on the oven, and now it is not working, the glass broke, or you now, cannot even get the door open.

The basic idea of a self cleaning oven is to get the oven so hot that you incinerate everything that is in the oven. The heat from this process will burn up everything in the oven and sometimes things outside also. Even though the wiring and controls are built to withstand high heat, taking the oven to such high temperatures pushes everything to the limit. If something is not insulated perfectly or has shifted a bit then the heat causes it to fail. Repeated heating also wears the insulation out and causes it to break down. For this reason the self cleaning features should be used sparingly.

Manufacturers want to please the customer so even though they know that this can create problems they also know that this feature sells more products. It is in your best interest to not even use this feature if possible.

If you have a oven that will not unlock after the cycle you have a few things you can try.

First make sure that you wait long enough before you try to open the oven. If it has not cooled completely it will not open. Do not run a clean cycle when you do not have the time to let it cool completely before you need it. Sometimes if you cycle the power to your oven off and then on again you can reset the oven and it will open. Turn off the breaker to your oven for a good minute or two before reapplying the power again.

If this fails to work then check your manual for instructions or to get a factory service number. They should be able to give you the information you need to open your oven.

De dietrich range cooker very noisy when oven on?

Have you checked the exhaust fans within the oven? These can make a lot of noise if something has come lose. They should be located at the top of your oven or on the back. I would check that.
Good luck

My de dietrich oven is not heating. the light and fan are ok

If the fan is working o/k, then the oven element is most likely faulty.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

Fan oven wont work convection works

Assuming the fan is working o/k, but there is no heat, then it is most likely that the oven element has failed.
This is to be found at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
Hope this helps.

De Dietrich oven not working!

I suspect that it is the oven lock that needs replacing. I bought a De Deitrich oven (pyroclean) in Sept 2007. The oven failed to heat in Aug 2009. The oven lock needed replacing which meant the unit had to be removed from the wall. It was replaced under guarantee but failed again in June 2010 and was replaced at a cost of €140 by enginneer. I am very dissappoined in the oven and expected to have no problems with it considering the DeDeitrich name. I would not recommend it to a friend. By the way the clock is easy to use if you follow the instructions exactly. Oven used by two careful owners only.

Oven Light does not turn off

The problem is due to a faulty door switch, this is part of the door lock mechanism. The reason is that the oven thinks the door is open , this puts on the light and stops some of the oven functions ie the fan the fan element and probably the bottom element.
The answer is to fit a new door lock mechanism.
