Greetings.I have GA-K8NE motherboard. My question is which is the best processor i can upgrade? My current processor is AMD semprom 2600+.thank you!

Hi!

The best processor you can use with your GA-K8NE ( socket 754) is the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Newcastle. It has 1MB of L2 cache, system bus of 1600 MT/s.

This processor is supported on both revisions of the motherboard (rev.1.x and rev 2.x)

Regards,

Bogdan

You probably have a Packard-Bell computer. You will need to match the motherboard form-factor to your case.

The packard bell motherboard i have is the ga6wmm7 alarm issues

I understand that your connections are snug, but that beep code means RAM issue. Humor me and swap the RAM in the slots. If that doesn't do it you may want to run Memtest or try other "known good" RAM.
