SOURCE: The mouse wheel on my wireless mouse 5000 is not

If the mouse is otherwise working, it may be dust. Mine is Microsoft 3000 and I just squirted compressed air into the gaps either side of the wheel. It had not been scrolling for weeks; now it's fine.

WHEN I TRY TO SCROLL WITH MOUSE THE SCROLL BAR AUTOMATICALLY MOVES UP AND DOWN

Sounds like the wheel switch on top of the mouse is stuck in the "on" position. Pick up another mouse at computer store and try it. If that fixes it, great. Just as cost effective as trying to repair the bad one (good luck finding the tiny wheel switch).

Cleaning the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000

I disassembled my Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000.

You need a set of precision screwdrivers to do this.

1. Peel up the teflon pad on the bottom of the mouse with a flat head screwdriver. Leave the other (the one under your fingertips) alone.
2. That will reveal a tiny silver screw. Remove that and then lift the gray upper section up from the back, then pull it free by moving it toward the back. The clips up at the front go in a forward direction, but they are not clipped in. You could just shake it free.
3. There are 4 tiny black screws. 2 at the front and 2 at the back. Remove them.
4. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the retainer clip from the back of the mouse. It's just held on by a couple of little nubs. Don't break it. Be gentle with this part.
5. Now, the mouse can come apart. You need to pull the bottom of it free at the back and then slide the entire bottom section back. There is a little piece of circuit board that sticks out underneath the right-click area that will get hung up on the upper shell if you try to pull it straight down. This will take a little bit of prying since it's all clipped together, but it will come loose.

That's it. I didn't take any of the inner parts apart after that. I will say that my sticky scroll wheel was scraping against the upper shell. By loosening the two screws at the front, it relieved some pressure and let it run more smoothly. I didn't actually have to take it all apart after step 2 in order to fix that issue.

Hi, Krisloba and the usual suspects are:
1. Wheels and or tires worn or damaged.
2. Engine/transmission/vehicle not aligned properly.
3. Primary chain is badly worn or links too tight as a result of insufficient lubrication or misalignment.
4. Engine to transmission mounting bolts loose.
5. Upper engine mounting bracket loose.
6. Ignition timing incorrect due to a poorly tuned engine.
7. Internal engine problem flywheels have shifted.
8. Broken frame.
9. Stabilizer links worn or loose.
10. Rubber mounts loose or worn.
11. Rear fork pivot shaft nuts loose.
12. Front engine mounting bolts loose.

Swaybar links are probably broken. There is one at each control arm (A arm) Behind the wheels. The bar stretches accross the car. And the links bolt to the bar and control arms. The links are long bolts About 4 inches, with four rubber bushings and four metal caps

Rubber drive band snapped and took out a earth and grey wire, can it be repaired? approx. how much?

any electrician should be able to repair this if you have the machine's cover off;
In fact you could do it yourself with a soldering iroin to replace the spade bit on the wire and some shrink rubber tubing which will allow you to join in any extra wire.
Cost to fix about $10 DIY and $50 by Mr Fixit type

Scroll wheel stopped turning, seems to be hanging up due to an alignment problem. How can I open it to take a look inside?

If your scroll wheel turns but you don't feel the 'notches' it is most likely stripped. I've repaired my Logitech, and based on what I saw inside, I doubt that it's an alignment issue.

If it's stripped, and the hexagonal end of the wheel's axle that fits into the receptor has lost its hex shape, I have a perfect fix.

I tried gluing it, but that only lasted as long as the glue. What I did instead was remove the wheel, thread a thin rubber band through the receptor, pull the rubber band tight and then reinstall the wheel. Once tension on the rubber band was released, it expanded again, making a tight friction fit of the wheel's axle and the receptor.

Hope that helps.

Microsoft notebook mouse 5000 Wheel scroll stopped

Fixing the wheel/scroll malfunction was as simple as a reboot. I usually shut down in hibernate. Apparently the system needed a complete reboot to reset.
