I have a Pioneer LCV-300 Laser Karaoke player; but without the "receiver" or "commander" unit. Is this unit necessary for the disc changer portion to operate or power on?

I may have a CD-V300 commander Auto changer if you can supply me with an owners manual for a LC-V300 laser changer. I also have an auto changer CD-V2000 if you can use it. If you can please contact me. Thanks.

This implies the laser in the dvd can't read your disk, and says "No disk". Try cleaning the laser first, it'll look like an led. Unplug and disassemble then use a cotton bud with isopropol alcohol, or metho. If this doesn't work, the laser may be dead and it'll just be a surround sound unit then!

Hi,
The player have problem with the laser pickup unit.
Try one thing, there is a disc available for cleaning the laser pickup unit (). You will get in any cd shops(instructions will come with it). Buy the cd and the insert it in any one of the tray. It will clean the laser unit if there is any dust in it. After cleaning put a disc and check is the problem remains. If the problem remains the you have to change the laser pick up unit. You can fin a link here which will lead you to the laser pick up unit. You will get the part only against confirm order.

I just got a used karaoke laser disc player ...no manual.....can it be hooked straight to speakers or does it need to go through a receiver?

Hello, the karaoke laser disc player, does it comes along with a self ampilifer if it does, check for the serial ribbon cable that is used to interconnect the disc player to the self ampilifer and connect the speakers to the output port of the ampilifer and not directly to the laser disc player.
If it does not come with a self ampilifer, then you can connect the speakers direct to the laser disc player.
With the following above it will work effectively for you to enjoy the laser disc player...

My receiver is reading NO DISC it is a vocopro karaoke player/receiver model # DKP-10G

First, the player does not support DVDs or MP3 discs.

Try two things:
#1:
Unplug from outlet and Turn ON player (while unplugged).
Plug back in and try to use the CD.

#2:
Obtain a CD laser lens cleaner from Radio Shack ($13). It is an audio CD with a row of brushes and does not use chemicals

Sound like laser assy defected in any case you need a Technician from Pioneer or they are trained by Pioneer is very complicated to remove the laser and replace it you need an osilloscope to aligment a new laser and special disc to do that. It might not worth to repair it, the laser itself a bout $110.00 Aus
