Go to Dell's support site and download any updated sound drivers. Then uninstall the sound drivers from the device manager, the reboot. It will find the hardware and reinstall the drivers. If this doesn't work, then it's an issue with the speakers. Check the connections to see if they worked loose, if not they may need replacing.

Hi we just bought a new cb galaxy people can hear us we cant hear anything no squelch no talking

Plug an external speaker in the back of radio & see if you can hear anything. Also, you may want to take bottom speaker panel off & make sure the 2 wires coming off speaker are plugged in to the back rightside of radio. These things I would check first.

My compaq 620 audio speakers are not working but there is sound when I put on external speakers.

Your internal speaker probably malfunctioned and it needs to be repaired or replaced. The sound card is fine because the external speaker is working.

Our notebook sound is gone. but when we connect external speaker then sound come so please solve the driver problems as soon as possible.

if you sound comes on when external speakers are plugged in chances are its not a driver issue you internal speakers could be blown if they were blown you would still hear distorted sound coming from them
is you internal speakers on mute? or maybe on really low volume
you can also go into my computer right click on background hardware tab device manager
and if you dont see anything with yellow question marks over it its not a driver issue
im almost certain its a volume issue with your internal speakers

My speakers wont´t work! i plug them in and I can´t hear anything! it´s not usb !

Be sure you have the plugs in the correct holes.
Feel free to move them around. The bezels on the sound ports are often color coded and will match the plugs you have. SOMETIMES they are not and you must guess.

Also make sure your sound settings have not been accidentally set to MUTE. Turn the volume up and play some music files or anything with sound.

If these speakers use power from the household plug.
Be sure the power knob is turned on! Usually the volume button.

If no external power is supplied these usually must be turned up full blast just to hear them. Some on board sound systems do not have the power to push the these speakers very high.

If all else fails
Update and make sure the correct sound drivers are loaded for your system.

If you have another set of speakers. Try them!
Cheap doesn't matter here.
Your only trying to determine the output works.
If it works then the other speakers may be defective.

Hope this helps!

Sound plays on my system but i dont hear it at all.my windows

Let's start by checking
  1. Your speakers are plugged into the green connector on the computer
  2. Speakers have power, are turned on, and volume is up
  3. Check your "speaker" icon on your tray (lower right hand corner of desktop) - to make sure volume is up and not muted.

check if the external speakers u plugged in came with an internal amplifier, if not then u will have to use an external amplifier to get max output from your external speakers.

No sound through external speakers

Although some monitors have built in speakers, most people have stand alone speakers. If the old monitor had built in speakers and now it is unplugged you won't hear sound. Even if the speaker cable is still plugged into the sound output on the back of your computer, the monitor must be plugged into an electrical outlet to have power.

I'd recommend buying a new set of external speakers if this is the situation.

If you never had speakers built into the monitor then normally changing monitors would make no difference whatever. The only explanation that makes sense under those conditions is that in the process of replacing the monitor, you dislodged the speaker jack from the sound output on the back of the computer.

Make sure your external speakers have electrical power plugged in, the power is on (green light on at least one speaker lights up) and the volume on the speakers is at least half way up.

Unplug the speaker from whatever hole it is plugged into and plug it firmly back in and test sound.

If still no sound other than some static on the speakers, try every single hole on the back of the computer that the jack will fit properly and test for sound.

Let me know if you have further questions.

There is no sound

Have you recently used headphones in this device? I have a portable DVD player that had a similar problem. It thought that headphones were plugged in and that turned the sound in the external speakers off. If i plugged in headphones the sound worked in them. So I jiggled the headphone plug in while in the jack and removed it and the sound came back on.
