Ink stick is jammed way down in the chute - Xerox Phaser 8560MFP Laser Printer

I have the same problem, but I´m not sure if every phaser 8560 has a translucent plastic piece over the ink sticks that won´t let me use the screw, is there a way to take that piece out and do it bare hands?

What I normally do it is take about a 2 or 3 inch wood, dry wall type screw and twist it down into the ink stick and work it back up out of the ink loader.
It's about the easiest way I have found to remove blocks, if the block fragments use some forceps or think needle nose pliers to remove the remaining pieces.

My Xerox 8550 says 'ink sticks are jammed'. Yet,

This could be a print head problem. If the print head is calling for ink and the sensor is bad the ink melter will continue to melt ink and over flow the print head. In which case the print head need to be replaced.
Also it could be a problem with the ink melter. If it isn't melting the ink it will cause this error.
To get to the ones at the end of the chute I stick a long screwdriver and break it free from the melter.

That code is a back stick count failure.
You want to look in your ink loader, see if there is a stick jammed, twisted, broken or in anyother way out of place or hung up in the slot.
Be sure you loaded a 8550 stick also, since the shapes on the different phaser printer sticks are all different.
You may have to carefully remove the black sticks and reload them. You can take a screw and screw it into the ink stick, slide it back and remove.
Most likely you will find a gap in the ink sticks causing the problem. Here are the Xerox support page instructions.

  1. Open and close the Top Cover to resolve the problem.
  2. If the problem persists, arrange the ink sticks until there are no spaces between sticks of the same color.
  3. Check for non 8500/8550 ink sticks jammed in the ink load chutes. If non 8500/8550 ink sticks, whether manufactured by Xerox or by a non-Xerox ink vendor, caused the ink sick jam, contact support to place a service call.

Xerox Phaser 8560dn says it is out of Cyan ink, but it is not.

The inksticks are probably jammed in the slot. If you're using non-Xerox ink, an error reset is required. Since the non-Xerox ink sticks are not the right shape (since the shape is a registered trademark), they don't always trip the sensors when they come down the chute.

What I normally do is take a screw, a dry wall screw is what I use. Thread it into the ink block and that makes it easier to work it back up and out of the ink loader.
Those are tough, I agree. If you have to break the block, you can get a crevice took into it and vacuum it out,, CAREFULLY !!!!

09,03x 35 = Cyan 36 = Magenta 37 = Yellow 38 = Black The error indicates an ink stick was jammed. You have to clear the ISC (ink stick count) error. Turn off the printer. Turn on the printer. As soon as you see XEROX start moving across the display hold down the back and help buttons until you see "beginning service mode" on the display. Release the buttons, it will now come up in the service mode. Scroll down to the function menu, hit ok, scoll to clear isc faault, hit ok. Hit the back button to get back to the first menu then exit diagnostics, hit ok when it asks if you want to restart in customer mode.

Hi,

--> The yellow ink sticks are jammed.
Open the ink loader and ensure that the yellow ink sticks are able to slide in the ink loading chute. Remove any broken of partial ink sticks. And use the link below for any other problems you may have.
