Ya, I've got that problem too. I note that the bottom rotor spins without turning the gear inside the copter (I can hear the gear when I turn the top rotor. So I'm thinking that maybe the rotors plastic sleeve was glued to the shaft and that came loose. But I'm a little hesitant to put glue in there until I'm sure!

OK! Got it figured out! Glad I didn't use glue!! So it turns out there are two shafts, one inside the other. What you have to do look for the side of the chopper body that has most of the screws. Use the little screwdriver from the spare parts kit to remove all of them. Make sure you get all of them! Even the ones on the seam at the bottom, and the ones on the tail. (And make sure those little suckers don't roll off the table. I lost one, but there were spares in the spare part kit). Ok, now start at the tail and then the nose and gently, persistently pry the two have of the body apart. Some tiny wires inside, so be careful. Now you see two large plastic gears -- turn them each and you will see the upper and lower rotors turn, The upper gear is for the lower rotor. Now look close just forward of the upper gear and you will see a very small gear, that obviously is supposed to mesh with the upper large gear. But if you have the same problem as me, it has raised up and no longer meshes. So use your fingernail to put just enough pressure straight down to push it back down to mesh. That's it! Now carefully put the two halves of the body back together. Watch out for the tiny wire running to the tail LED -- make sure it rests inside the body and doesn't get caught in the seam. Screw it all back together, and you should be flying again!

When the fan rotates it makes a loud noise. Sounds like it needs oil. Where can I put lubricating oil?

Simply disassemble where its possible and find the place of the bearings most its short right behind the propellor where the shafts come out the motor if it is hard to find for an accessible place spraying wd40 with the hose pipe on the canister behind the propellors can may be help do not use sewing machine oil because of the time being it accelerates faster dirt in the sliding bush of the shafts.
