I am having same problem with my front load whirlpool.

  • kcg061 Jul 09, 2008

I keep getting the F02 code , then I'll push pause, then start, it will run for a little, and I'll get the SUD code the machine will then lock you out. thats when I unplug the stupid thing, wait an hour plug it back in start the machine over and PRAY! According to the manual code F02 means the pump is bad. I have watched the machine for long periods and the pump seems to be working fine with the water leaving the machine as usual.

  • ari6 Jul 10, 2008

I'm getting the same error code but after turning off it will then run well for several days.

    thanks

  • Anonymous Jul 17, 2008

F 02 code if I unplug it it still does the same thing we took bottom panel off nothing is in there which we got a wash cloth out of there before and it started working fine it will start a little water will drain and then it stops again

  • jeffreyblake Aug 09, 2008

error code F the washer is not draing or spinning and it looks as if the tub itself is off balance. Under the rubber ring is also filled with water. What is the average warranty on this washer? Mine also leaks every time I wash towels. I have done nothing to solve the problem still trying to find the paperwork

    Frustrated

  • bigdaddy1192 Aug 09, 2008

My whirlpool duet washer is almost 3 yrs old. We do alot of laundry, 5 & 6 loads a day, so the machine is always going. Up unitl today I haven't had any real problems with the machine, occasionally the SUD code, & usually that load had washclothes from my kids bathroom in it. You know what kids do when they get new bottles of shampoo, especially little girls, they pour them out. That was my explanation for the SUD code. But today I heard a beep & discovered the F 02 code. I of course couldn't find my manual so I came to the internet for a solution & thankfully I found one. I am waiting on the machine to drain so that I can take the panel off and clean the filter. I will let you know if cleaning the filter works, or if I am going to have to replace the pump.

Where is the filter the back or the front of the washer? I need help!

  • Anonymous Apr 21, 2009

F 02 Code. Did a load with cheap bath mat. Bath mat fell apart, got everywhere inside. Drain hose clear. Will start loads, but won't finish. First it will say SUD. Then it will say F 02 code.

Pop off the front cover (3 Torx screws on the bottom lip) After removing the cover you will see a white plastic unit with a screw on cover on the front. Unscrew the cover (no tools needed). Pull the cover off then remove the strainer. It will have gray gook on it plus God knows what else. Clean the strainer in the sink replace screw the cover back on and your in business.

Bless, you for the solution. I wondered why I was getting the rotten egg smell. GROSS! I had no idea there was a strainer since the unit was here when we purchased the house :)

Thanks to advice from solutions #3 and #6 my washer is working great! I was getting flashing codes F02 and sud, my washer wouldn't drain or finish cycle or unlock. To unlock I unplugged washer to reset, then started new cycle, then pressed pause twice to stop and it unlocked the door. I then followed advice for solution #3 to clean out filter and found two insoles from my kids shoes I had washed. It was very easy to do! ...NOTE! Solution #6 mentions lots of water...they are not kidding! be prepared with towels or slide a pan under the washer before unscrewing front of filter

Just cleaned mine out and found several bobbypins, almost a $1 in change and a bunch of gunk. While we were at it hubby asked if I wanted to do the dryer to so he took off the front. WOOOOO! I vaccuumed up almost $2 in change and 3 dust containers on my vaccuum full of lint!! Might be a good idea to do the dryer too when you do the washer!!

The filter is more of a strainer. It is located behind the front cover. It's white, in the bottom and center. Mine had all kinds of stuff in it.

That was one of the most satisfying fixes EVER. I popped the cover off, cleared the filter and the washer is running again in less than 20 minutes.

Found: two Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets (evil!) a one dollar bill, $2.58 in change, oddly enough, an allen wrench like the poster in #11, a small wing nut and a ring.

Jsrock you do rock!! We have a Maytag Epic Front loading washer and the door was locked, would not open, and the water wouldn't drain. Then the computer acted as if it was going to die.
I checked the drain filter and sure enough, a pair of rubber gloves (I'm a hairstylist and must have left them in some towels that were in the washer), a pen, some lint, and some twist ties...replaced the drain pump access cover and performed the functions you mentioned, and wala!!!! It ran a load of clothes and worked beautifully. Had an apt scheduled for Maytag pro to come out..called tonight to cancel and the trip charge was $ 90 alone...not including parts and labor!!! yay Fixya~~ ALSO! I am so mechanically challenged and when I saw the ladies post that her and her 4 yr old performed this fix, I knew with God on my team, I could do it too!! It really was easy and my husband was stunned when he came home and it was fixed!!! Thank you so much for this valuable information!

Are the 3 screws behind the door itself? And are they like star shaped heads, not 4 way? My husband is gone on a hunting trip and with 5 kids cant do without a washer for long.

Posted on Dec 03, 2009

Great -Glad I came across this - 3 screws and turn the white knob - found an allen wrench, lint, cap to something, and 3.05 in change!

PS be prepared for a lot of water if it won't drain on its own!
Thanks

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet washer F21 error code. Just bought

"F21" is a Long Drain error. The following link explains how to torubleshoot:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r1484065-f21_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

What this usually means is that you have something clogged in the drain pump and it needs to be cleaned out. In the majority of the cases, this corrects the problem. However, if you JUST purchased this washer, and it is brand new (not used), I would recommend you use your manufacturer warranty (good for the 1st year in most cases) to avoid the risk of voiding it. The conditions of some warranties, prohibit the consumer from opening the appliance and attempting any repairs. Read the find print just to be sure.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Whirlpool front loader duet hd washer gets stuck in the wash cycle with the error code of F02. What is F02 mean?

Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained).

To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.

You may need to disassemble all the hoses and inspect everything problem maybe a partial block? It can still drain but if it is slow and takes too long you will get the F02 error.
