Question about Eureka 2991AVZ Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

Very loud operation

When running the vacuum the sound is almost deafening. The machine is 6months old and ran like a champion at first. It would even pull itself along from the brush rotation. I used the hose attachements to excess with constuction debris and now because of the noise it makes it hard to use. Yes my wife gave me an I told you so.
I cleaned out the hose, roller assembly, both filters (above cannister and side), and blew out all other spaces that I could see. It helped very little. Did I ruin the motor or did I miss something?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your Dyson vacuum. From your description, it sounds like the model number you've supplied may not be correct, as DC08 is a cylinder vacuum which doesn't use a belt-driven brush bar. So we can confirm exactly which model you own and take you through some quick diagnostic checks, I'd encourage you to contact us directly. You can reach our experts by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Spinbrush is very loud, barely sprays, spraks flew out the side. It is only 6 months old.

Hope you kept your receipt! That's a warranty item. Your motor is making the sparks. Go to hoovers website find the nearest service center and take the machine and your receipt to them. You'll get a new motor, installed, at no charge because they have a 1 year warranty.

Rainbow motor makes loud noise

Depending on the age of the Rainbow, it could be the bearings. Does the noise happen with just the Rainbow or from the power nozzle?

My Eureka capture bagless vacuum has just started making a loud siren like sound. It is deafening. what is the problem?

does it smell like burning rubber if not check beater brush it sounds like something may be jammed in it or near where it goes up past beater bar into the vacumn inlet if you do have a burning smell the motor shaft is spinning and thinning the belt and may also be making that sound as shaft spins on loose belt

Why does the Eureka capture plus pet lovers put off a loud tornado siren sound when you turn it on. I cleaned the filters checked everything and it sounds like a tornado siren in the south. Email...

I would check your fan and see if any of the blades have been fractured. I had this happen recently when my vacuum caught a screw and the sound and vibration was deafening.

Loud noise/Sounds clogged

You could have a clogged air filter and vacuum is not getting air to motor. You could have hair and string buildup on ends of roller brush. You can put a vaccum hose over a broom handle to clean it out. Also, check the little elbow of the hose at the bottom f vacuum where it bends.

My Kirby G3 makes a loud, high pitch whistle with the hose

I would say you either have something stuck on the impeller or there is a piece of paper or something stuck inside the hose. its not clogging the hose but when the air passes by it. It is making that noise. If you find nothing you may need a repair. May have a bad bearing in the motor. Actually you can also try inspecting the brush on the head. It removes easily from vacuum and should spin freely and quietly.

Ran over cord and the vacuum shut down, won't

sounds like it might have broken a wire in the cord and may have to replace the cord unless you can find the broken wire and splice it back together

I think you damaged the belt. I ran over a sock once and it made a grinding noise but still worked for several months after the incident. Finally, the belt broke off. I had it replaced and now it doesn't make that sound.

High rpm

These machines are noisy to begin with, but will become worse if anything is allowed to enter the fan area of the motor. I have seen debris clog the front fan and put the motor out of balance so it will really scream when it runs. This work is best left to a competent professional
