Hello. When water is sprinkled on hot oil will sputter because the oil is at a temperature near or over 100 degrees C or 212 degrees F. This is the temperature where water boils. The sputtering that you hear is the water being boiled and creating steam. When the water boils and becomes steam, it expands extremely fast. This creates a "bubble" in the oil and the bubble "popping" makes the sputtering sound.

When the oil is hot it is well above the boiling point of the water, so if any water is spinkled onto the hot oil the small drops are insantly boiled and vapourised giving the spluttering sound you hsve described.

SOURCE: WHY there is a spluttering

That is the sound of the oxygen separating from the nitrogen as it very quickly turns to vapor. The spluttering is also the larger droplets exploding into smaller droplets and going through the same separating process until the droplet is completely vaporised.

How Do You Clean a Wooden Cutting Board?
Wooden cutting boards are visually so much nicer than plastic and glass ones, even though some people think that they are more practical.
Wooden boards can be cleaned, you just have to put more time and effort into it.
1. First wash your boards with soap and hot water and let them drip dry upright.
2. Every few weeks or so, sprinkle coasrse (kosher) salt on the board and then rub it well with lemon that's been cut in half (ie rub the cut side on the wood).
3. Rinse well with hot water.
4. Some people use oils such as walnut or almond oil or beeswax to rub on their butcher's blocks but do'nt use olive oil as it becomes rancid.
5. If you rub oil in wipe off the excess and leave it to dry overnight.

I got a 2000 225 evenrude, when im going it will do a loud beep an turn off,its got oil an water is pumping out good

Next time take the hood off and splash water on the cylinder heads (a little sprinkle will do) -if it steams and crackles and has a good water pump, your thermostat is stuck shut.
If it is not hot check for a new temp sensor or oil level sensor if it has one.

My butter dish had a rancid smell to it. I use it now for just decoration, but when I threw it in the washer the smell is now on the other dishes and the dishwasher. What can I do?

Hello, W/D here.
The easiest fix for your issue is to place 2 cups of vinegar into the bottom of the washer, and a sprinkle of detergent on the door. Heat the water to the washer by running the hot water in the sink to as hot as it gets, then start a sanitary cycle. When that cycle is complete, follow it with 2 cups of bleach in the bottom of the washer, and a sprinkle of soap as before. Heat the water, and run another cycle. This should clear the odor up.
Best regards, W/D

when it's hot lay wet paper towels on them.. no soap remove towels when they stop sizzle. Now just make them wet and sprinkle coarse salt on the grills and scrub with a short brissle wok brush.. the kind with the stiff bambo brissels... remember no soap to clean and no pam when you cook just oil and keep very very clean and it will never get dirty. you may have to keep grill on low untill ready to clean or reheat before cleaning.

White smoke is usually from water and water will make the car splutter. Did you get water in your tank at some time. If you have water in your fuel, you will have to drain the tank and refill with good fuel. The engine will run fine once it is hot but if a lot of water goes into a hot cylinder it can cause a lot of damage.

Hot water tap - no pressure and splutters

Do you have your own hot water tank? or is there one serving many units? There is a 'dip tube' in hot water tanks, if it gets old it sometimes deteriorates and small parts of plastic get loose and will float around in the tank, if a piece finds it way up to the outlet then that might explain why you are getting the low water pressure. one wat to check is to twist off the aerotor on the end of your faucet, if there are any small pieces of white plastic then you will have to replace the dip tube and maybe even flush out the tank. it is also possible that a piece of plastic has traveled up the water line and it stuck in the faucet cartridge.
