Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I want to format my c drive with the help of Dos command prompt , installed win 7 ultimate.

Formatting hard drive When booting from a Windows installation CD select the option to install Windows then you (can either delete the existing partition/s then create a new partition then you) can format the hard disk. After formatting the hard disk you can abort the Windows installation if you do not want proceed to install Windows.
You should be able to use the Windows 7 installation CD to delete the existing partition, create a new partition and format the new partition and then install Windows 7.

Samsung m3 portable external hard drive not showing in my computer

Try going Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management (This is for Windows 7, the process might be a little different for other Windows versions).

With any luck you will see your 1TB partition on here. You can then right click on it and select 'delete volume' if necessary, and then format it. Make sure you are formatting the correct partition.

The issue for me was that Windows did not recognise the partition on the external, and therefore was not displaying it because it assumed it was data from an unrecognised filesystem, and therefore didn't want to mess with it.

Windows is unable to read the usb

When you formatted the drive for the Mac, you probably used the HFS format. Windows can only read NTFS or FAT formatted drives. You will need to reformat your external drive again. If you use a FAT32 format, all computers will be able to read the drive (Windows, UNIX and Mac - anyway). Note: the FAT32 option does limit the number of files in each directory and the maximum file size.

First back up any files that you have put on the external drive to another disc (your computer's hard disc, for example).
If you are using the M2 external disc for Time Machine backups, you should partition the drive into two sections. Format one to the FAT32 and the other to HFS.

The Disc Utility in OSX can repartition the drive and reformat it. However, sometimes it doesn't correctly format the new partitions. You may need to do some extra step, see http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~pcarbo/macnexstar.html for one set of reformatting steps. In Windows, there is a similar utitily in the Disk Management Control Panel. (Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Create and format hard disk partitions (Windows 7)) You can only format the disc to FAT or NTFS with the Windows utility.

Some third-party software is available for changing the partitions on a hard drive formatted for Windows use without losing the data on the disc. I do not know if similar programs exist for OSX.

Some versions of Unix have gparted which will also repartion and reformat a hard disc but can't keep the original data on the drive. (I've used the Windows and Unix partition managers, including Paragon Partition Manager which let me keep my original Windows data on the drive.)

I hope this helps.

I bought the windows 7 ultimate of eBay I now know it is counterfeit I bought it because wanted upgrade and I forgot my log on password and could not access my computer the windows 7 lasted 6 months but...

Unfortuneately you have loaded the new window 7 disc which wipes out any personal data and the older version of window 7, at this point you have nothing to loose and try a recovery, if it does work you will be back to square one with your password required, if that happens let me know, I may be able to help.

I installed W7 ultimate for my dell inspiron n5010 but when i restart it an error message "0xc000000e" appears and becomes unable to start windows normally. what should i do regarding this...

Windows 7 Boot Error - Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed
This means that the hard disk is messed up. Try to reinstall again, this time using the entire hard disk and not just a partition and make sure a full format and not a Quick one is used.
If you get the same error even after that then the disk is damaged - replace it (or take it to a repair shop if you don't have enough experience) and then reinstall again.

Please take a close look at the disk you are using to install "Windows 7 Ultimate". It is definitely a "Recovery Disk" for Windows 7 Ultimate. You cannot install Windows 7 with a recovery disk. Recovery disk always is used to repair corrupt or damaged files of Windows OS and requires that the Operating System is already installed. You need a "Windows 7 Ultimate" Installation disk to install Windows not a recovery disk for Windows.

Hello,

1. Turn off the option to clean the Prefetch in Tune-Up Utilities

2. Windows will need to re-create all the prefetch files again, thereby slowing down Windows during boot until the new prefetch files are created

Tuneup utilities says that prefetch data deleted, but when i explore the hard disk i find it i suffer from slow startup windows 7... i tried everything but still slow

Hi,

This is expected.

1. Turn off the option to clean the Prefetch in Tune-Up Utilities

2. Windows will just need to re-create all the prefetch files again, thereby slowing down Windows during boot and program starts until all the new prefetch files are created
