My monitor is not coming on. I get a blinking green light. This has been happening for several days and I can usually get a picture after reconnecting the monitor power cord several times . This morning this didn't help. I have turned everything off, unplugged and replugged the monitor. I am guessing this is a short in the power cord to the monitor because I hear a "snapping" when I try to plug it in. Any help would be appreciated.

try another monitor on your system if you can barrow one somewhere to eliminate that it may be the computer... if it is the screen check the warranty on it at the view sonic web site... also check the cable from the comp to the screen to see if it is lose. try another cable or if it has hdmi dsub or dvi try those types as well. it may have a lose connector on the one your using...
This model has a know issue with the power supply. Check out our repair guide at: www.ccl-la.com click the monitor repair link and then go to page 2, its listed under the Wetinghouse LCM-22W3 monitor, they use the same power supply - DAC-19M009. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service for $35 plus return shipping.
I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.
Looks like you have an LCD. I was guessing it may be magnetic related in which case I would recommend you degaussed your display using the degauss function but your monitor won't have it since it's not a CRT by the looks of it. I would recommend contacting your dealer or where you purchased the monitor at a retail store. Since it's only 8 months old, you may be able to return it under warranty. If your retail store doesn't let you do that, talk to View Sonic directly and see if you can RMA your product for returning to the manufacturer and receiving a new or repaired unit.
I have a Viewsonic Flat Screen - recently I turn it on and all I see is like tye dye colors across the monitor with a slight ghost images of windows trying to boot-up. What can I do to fix this. The monitor is about 1 1/2 year old.
