Iam unable to download pictures from my sony cybershot DSC W210 camera, using a USB, as the computer is not automatically opening the files and when Iam opening its showing blank files even though pics are...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I own a nikon coolpix s3000 model. When I plug the camera to my computer's USB port and try to copy the pictures, I get the error message "The computer cannot detect the scanner or camera."....

Hi, the error indicates that the USB Cable is loose in connection, please connect it firmly and try copying the Pictures. Also try installing the Software provided by Nikon which may have particular Driver for the Digital Camera. You can also Copy the pictures from your Digital Camera by removing the Memory Card and connecting to the Computer with the help of Memory Card Reader.

Hi,

The problem is caused due to the virus infection. Copying and pasting text is not an issue however the problem that the virus caused you is copying and pasting files. Installing a license antivirus may help you with the problem. Once the problem has been fixed you need to backup the files and reinstall the operating system because some registry or files might got corrupted due to the infection.

You cabn try to install and clean your computer using this. click here. A 30 day trail antivirus just fillout the form and it will send you a link a verification email.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Putting old hard drive in new ps3 to get game saves error

You cannot switch a hard drive from an old ps3 and put it into the new one. The new ps3 will know that a new hard drive was inserted and offer to format it.

To get the games off the old hard drive, put it back into the old ps3. Insert a USB flash drive into a USB port on the PS3 and you should be able to copy saved games from the hard drive onto the USB flash drive. You can then plug the USB flash drive into your new ps3 and copy off the saved game info,

Unable to install XP in CQ60-104tu compaq Presario

You may find that if you insert a blank CD instead of DVD you have more luck (the image you have created is a CD image not a DVD image). Another tip is that you should not copy the ISO image to CD but using Nero burn image to disk. Let me know if you need more help.

Adding music from your ipod to your PS3

You cannot transport files from your iPod to your PS3. You can use a USB flashdrive, SD Card, or Memory stick though.

PS3 auto-detects my flash drive, go to the music section highlight your flash drive and hit Triangle. And then click on Display all. When you find the song you want, hit Triangle again and click on copy.

Done!

PQSERVICE

I'm trying a backup of my Aspire One PQSERVICE to DVD after a near catastrophic partitioning experiment.

So far, I've booted from a Knoppix live CD and I'm trying partimage to copy the contents of the PQSERVICE to an image file on an external usb hard drive. Hopefully I can burn the image to DVD-R. So far, it looks promising.... even if I can't make a DVD-R from the image, I can use partimage to restore the PQSERVICE from the image file if I have to.

Another option would be to boot a knoppix live CD and just copy the contents of PQSERVICE to another disk or partition (not NTFS though). Linux doesn't care about the hidden drive partition settings that Windows uses.
