Open the trap door and hold down the lever with the red knob. Light the plot and hold it till it stays lit on it's own. Ain't been no pilot lights on dryers for many years. Today's dryers have a gas assembly consisting of a silicone carbide ignitor, a flame/ignitor sensor, and a pair of coils. When the drum temp drps below 105f the control klixon on the blower housing powers up the gas valve assembly. The sensor, ignitor and coils are all energized. The coils however wil not open the gas valve because the ignitor is drawing too much current. The sensor FEELS the heat from the ignitor and @1800f the bi-metal inside it opens and kills the power to the ignitor. The ignitor also is connected to one of them coils that has 3 wires and it becomes a thermocouple device at that point. If for some reason the gas does not ignite the ignitor cools and shuts off the gas flow. how do i relight the - themobilian_601.jpgthemobilian_599.jpgHthemobilian_2.jpeg

Light pilot light

Many heaters have pilot flames can be relighted with a match or push button operation. Many employ safeguards to prevent unburnt fuel from accumulating in the space or allowing an unstable pilot flame from "proving".

Most appliances have instructions printed or embossed on or near the pilot, gas valve or protective cover. It is very important to closely follow these instructions for your safety and that of others in the area. If you are unable to locate the instructions or follow them and relight the pilot, you should contact the gas company for assistance. This can be in indication of an issue with fuel, thermocouple, gas valve, etc., and would require a service person to correct.

I have included a link to a video to light a gas heater - yours may be the same or similar:

Maytag gas dryer not heating

First make sure you have gas, then open lower section of this dryer you shoul see screws you will see a place to relight the pilot , if you smell gas before doing anything then stop your repair, see if the pilot is lit then push the red button and hold it relight pilot hold this button for a few min's after it relights, if it dosent relight check power goign to gas valve near pilot . Gas units have very little problems you may have just lost gas pressure and need to relight it , let me no ! what you see and we wuill go from there

Pilot light is out need to relight it but do not know where it is located

The pilot is located in the bottom of the stove, you will have to remove the bottom drawer, and you will see the pilot in the back, you can relight it there, if there is no bottom drawer you will have to remove the bottom cover inside the oven and this is the location where you can relight the pilot.

Lochinvar water heater model LTN040G. Can't move dial from "on" past "pilot" to "off" to relight. Seems like there must be something I need to do to make it move, but can't figure it out.

The valve should be able to be depressed at the pilot setting and as you slowly depress it you should get it to move past pilot to off. You do not however need to go to off. You can go back to pilot and relight it and go back to on.

If it will not relight and will not go back to off it sounds like the valve is damaged internally and will need to be replaced.

I dont know of any manufactor that makes a stand alone pilot anymore. (pilot you have to lite). The pilot should lite itself when you turn on the heat.
