Question about Sylvania G-Netbook
First, on the left side of the main screen, you will see an icon that says "WI-FI Power". That's the switch to turn it on. When you click it, a little box will appear that says "turn on" when it's off and "turn off" when it's on.
But looks maybe you hadn't fully set the machine up yet because you referred to "password" - they call it "network key" here (see below).
Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.
On a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.
For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".
For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet) in order to get your "network key" fill that in (on the 7" netbook) and then click "OK".
Next (on the 7" netbook) be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
I selected "default" and was off and running.
Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are there. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, YouTube, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people have way under-rated this fun little machine!
