Lamp light on front of tv

Last night the light came on but it was not yellow to me....:D
It was more of a amber color it was not blinking. So. in the owners manual it said turn the tv off for awile and let cool and clean the filter.
This morning I cleaned the filter and replaced it then turned the tv on.
THe light still comes on and it could not possibly be hot it was off all night.
When I put the filter back in I thought I heard some small fan come on, but not sure. By the way I was told some men are color blind...the light was not RED it was a much lighter colorr.

Good morning:

I replaced my bulb and had a similar problem. I had a repair person come out and they found that the actual jack the lamp plugs into came out of the bracket. It literally fell inside the TV. The repair person had to remove the back of the TV in order to retrieve the lamp jack. You could literally see the open hole with a flashlight. If you pull your bulb out you can see if the jack is in place.

What does hdmi is blocked mean

Hello!
HDMI blocked could mean, that one or more HDMI inputs are turned off. In WD- series DLP TVs it's possible to disable one or more inputs, which are not to be in use, to speed up signal source switching. Most of modern sets are constantly monitoring inputs and automatically recognizing "plug"n"play" signals. blocking any input would not cause TV to shut down.
Yellow(amber) light means: lamp door interlock switch is off or malfunction. green blinking: set is initializing, about to begin normal operation. So: quite possible that lamp has been replaced incorrectly or door is not tight intermittently. Last possible issue: door's interlock switch is bad. Take lamp door off and you will find the switch with blue lever on the left side of the door inside plastic compartment. Push it with your "pinky" or pencil carefully, then ask someone to turn set on. Make sure, yellow light is off, before do so. If set starts normally, observe lamp's activity: it should stay on and getting brighter, while you holding switch. If lamp stops working, while there is no "amber" light, then TV shuts off, red blinks, lamp is bad. I just had to replace lamp twice, due to defective batch of lamps with housing. 3rd time I replaced bare bulb and it solved the problem. But there was no "amber" issue!
good luck,
Alex.

I have a Sony 50" WEGA rear projection tv. Last night it made a popping sound and then the screen went black. I could still hear audio at that time. I turned the tv off and now there is a blinking red...

It sounds lamp in tv got broken as you heard pop sound of it, replace lamp in tv to fix the issue.
Blinking light would be Lamp light at tv front that shows lamp is dead.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and mentioned in tv user manual.
Thanks.

Lamp light on front of tv stays on, it is amber in color

Hi,do you mean tv is showing an amber picture? If you do,it could be an issue with the color wheel or dmd board. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises. This is how the DMD works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!

Tv used to make a whining sound when we turned it on, we would turn it off and on a couple of times and then it would be fine. now the tv won't come on at all, it blinks a green light and then shuts down...

Well that humming sound is indeed the color wheel, you say you already replaced it.
The thing is that there are two types of color wheels one with a silver bearing and another one with a gold one, for example if your Tv uses a gold bearing colorwheel and you buy a silver one, it's not going to work, if you still have the orginal colorwheel which i think you did since you replaced it last night, just make sure what color the bearing is. Because the color wheel is the one causing the issues on your TV.

TV makes humming noise, lamp light is blinking, does not turn on

Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.

TV doesn't turn on

You really should give make & model number when posting, it helps us immensely, your lamp and possibly the ballast is bad, start with a new lamp first, odds are very good that it will fix your problem, can`t help more without manufacturer and model number, good luck, ps, order the original lamp, generics are junk and a waste of your money.

Tv keeps turning off?

cutta, you will most often hear a click on boot then the fans start up and lamp will then fire. The picture will start to show up....at what point does it shut off? and do you hear a click when the tv is turning off? Is it the complete tv shutting down, fans and everything that turns off? Do you see any lights on the the front panel "POWER", "STATUS" or "LAMP", what are they doing? If you see a Power, Status or Lamp light after it shuts off the below are what they mean if there is an issue. POWER - STATUS - LAMP - CONDITION/ISSUE: Off - Yellow - Off - Temp. high/dirty filter/excess room temp Off - Off - Yellow - 4000 hrs. Lamp usage warning Off - Off - Blink Yellow - Lamp Cover open Off - Blink Yellow - Off - Air Filter Cover open Off - Off - Red - Lamp failure (failed to turn On or broken) Off - Blink Red - Off - Fan Has Stopped Off - Red - Off - Circuit failure (short) or DVI cable disconnected If you want to check for the last "Error Code", after you first turn the TV on, by pressing the front panel ?DEVICE? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time and holding them for 5 seconds, it activates the Error Code Mode. The ?Power LED Light? blinks/flashes (1/2 sec delay) and then flashes again denoting a two digit Error Code indicating no problem or an error has occured since the last Initalization. i.e. "Power light" blinks 3 times (1/2 second delay) and then blinks 4 times then 1 sec delay and repeats a few times. This would mean "Error 34 - Lamp abnormality". See below for error codes..... Error Code - Description or issue 12 - No Error detected, check Power Supply 32 - Lamp Cover is open 33 - Air Filter Cover is open 34 - Lamp abnormality 36 - Light Engine (DMD or LAMP Fan stopped) 37 - Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped 38 - Lamp temperature high 39 - DMD temperature high 41 - Short is detected 44 - DVI cable between FMT & Engine disconnected. Sorry for the long answer but it was an open ended question.
