I, too, have a Dane-Elec 4GB USB drive. It suddenly & magically became write protected. Can't figure out how to remove write protection.

There should be a little switch on your memory card reader, if it is facing down, your card is locked. Push it up and then you should be ready to go. :)

Take it out of the phone and use a card reader. Also make sure there is not a password set on the memory card as this will activate once removed from the phone. goto your phone options and remove password to be on the safe side.

Apacer sd card

Hi Eric Chen,
there could be a couple of reasons the sd card is write protected,

1) Write protection enabled
- If it's the standard size sd card there's a switch on the left hand side.

2) May need to be reformatted
- First backup anything on the sd card to another location (ie: a folder on the desktop)

Go into you computer/file manager (some times called my computer) select the drive letter of the sd card (may listed as removal disk)
right click -> format, check that the right size is specified then click format (double check correct drive)
Then copy the files back.

Also you maybe able to use your camera to format the sd card instead.

How do I download photos from my cell phone micro Sandisk

If you have files on micro sd in your cell ..just use a card reader..and connect it to the computer and it will behave just like a memory card ..usually when you buy a micro Sd card ..it will give you an adapter that transforms it into a regular SD card and will fit in the card reader of your laptop ..If you use a pc desktop with no card reader..and you do not have a adapter for your micro SD ..just buy a cheap card reader for this type of card ..and use it in usb
To actually retrieve the file..copy them from the card's folder or cut them (this operation will remove them from the card ) ..
remember not to mess with the folders on the card cause it will make issues when you plug it back in the phone ..
here is a link for a cheap card reader you may use..but my advice is to get one from your local computer store..and not the cheapest one ..cause you may end up with a strange Chinese made..and not be able to use it ..(its a lottery with this ones..I've bought before devices that worked fine for years and also ones that were broken from the start )
http://www.nextag.com/micro-sd-card-reader/products-html
Or ..if you do not have a reader and do not need one ..and still want the files just use the data cable of the phone ..and install the pc suite for it ..and it will see the card from the phone directly ..
Or if you have a laptop with Bluetooth capacity ..transfer the files via Bluetooth ..

Samsung micro sd memory card

THE CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED
OR THE FILES COPIED ARE WRITE PROTECTED.
SO REMOVE THE WRITE PROTECTION ITS LIKE A SMALL SWITCH WHICH SLIDES ON THE CARD .. ONLY CERTAIN CARDS HAVE IT .
NOW IF THIS DOESNT WORK
PUT THE CARD IN A PHONE AND SEE PROPERTIES OF THE DATA THERE , REMOVE WRITE PROTECTION .
