Question about InFocus IN35W Projector

Open Question

I have an InFocus IN35W projector. The lamp won't turn on and the power button won't work i.e. when I plug it in the fan turns on but the lamp doesn't and when I hit the power button to try to turn the whole thing off it doesn't work. All the lights - temperature, service, lamp replace are on at the same time. Any ideas? Is it just completely useless?

Contact the manufacturer for a firm ware upgrade. My two brother in laws/sisters own this same pj and had the same issues you are talking about. Once they installed the update [aka: firmware upgrade]it created a solution to the problem.

Let me know how it goes. They can either mail you a CD, direct you to where on their website, otherwise email you the update to download. You have to connect your pj as well.

Let me know how that goes. I'm fairly confident that will fix it. There was a certain time frame [manufacturer dates], and serial numbers that had these issues.

SOURCE: Infocus lamp not firing

more then likely the ballast has gone bad and the lamp is not getting the right voltage to fire. Only other thing you can do is remove the lamp the turn the power on and check the voltage at the connector. This will not check the triggering voltage mine you only the lower operating voltage. But since you have replace the bulb with a known good one I'm betting on the ballast is bad.

SOURCE: My infocus IN1 projector won't turn on anymore.

Hi,
It may be the lamp is out. Normally a projector will try & fire the lamp 3-5 times then shut down with a different color light like amber or red. If the lamp doesn't light then it could be the lamp or perhaps the lamp ballast that starts the lamp has failed. A stuck fan also causes similar symptoms. There's 2-4 fans in the projector if one is stuck or bad it will turn off within 5 seconds or so after the lamp lights.
Does your lamp light at all? Are the lights a different color after it shuts down? Answers to these questions help figure out what's wrong though it's impossible to say for sure without looking at it. Infocus IN10 projector, when I turn it on the light blinks green for a while (with no picture) and then it shuts off and blinks red (more than 5 blinks)

if Lamp or projector shuts off after running a short period of time, This is usually a thermal issue caused by excessively
high internal temperature. The high temperature
could cause a component on the controller ECA or
the power supply to fail when it gets hot.
First you need to check the fan operation, Are 3 fans, two for lamp and one for the color wheel. Check the elevation foot, if something is broke maybe something stop the fan.
Remove the lamp module.
Examine the fan assembly through the recess in the bottom case. Plug the projector in and turn it
on. Both fans in the fan assembly should start up and run for 5 - 10 seconds, then shut down
(because there is no lamp installed). This is time enough to make sure the fans work properly.
Make the same for the color wheel fan, you need to remove the top case.

Infocus IN35 Power Problem

check the interlock switch for the lamp door (on the fan bracket). if the switch doesn't work, the projector won't turn on. also check to see if the ribbon cable for the top case buttons is connected well. if still a no-go, it is the power supply (part # 510-2189-00). if you want to try and fix it instead of purchase it, start with the caps. some of them bulge and some tend to dry out prematurely without physical damage showing. start with the large one in the middle. you should at least get 5v from one of the points. you won't get any more unless you get a signal from the main board turning the rest of the power supply on. and there's where the problem may lie.

InFocus LP725 light goes out after 10 minutes

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

I hope these suggestions help
