Question about AEG Dishwashers

1 Answer

AEG Favorit - model F86050UM The dishwasher was disconnected and moved whilst new timber flooring was being laid. On reconnection it was evident there was some water in the base of the unit, this was removed by tipping the unit over to drain. Now there is no power display on the door.Power outlet checked OK. Your assistance would be appreciated in this seemingly simple problem. Murray

What has happened is that you have tripped the overflow/anti flood device switch when you upended the machine. You most likely need to empty out the salt container, and to reset the antiflood give the machine a few sideways tips and try to shake free the sensor.

New AEG dishwasher wont fit in existing space that housed our old Favorit 44050 VI

The space underneath the dishwasher, or cabinets, is referred to as the kick space. It is where your toes fit under the edge of a counter and they are typical of cabinets and dishwashers alike. You should not expect a wood trim piece to fit underneath the dishwasher and not all dishwashers will accommodate one. It is fair to say that all dishwashers will come complete with a trim piece to cover this area, since some have venting and others do not; some have a door that extends down further and some do not. Generally speaking the variation people concern themselves with is in dishwasher's width and not in the door configuration. So having said and in consideration of your (assumed) desire to retain the wood trim, I suggest you retool the wood trim piece to work/fit with the dishwasher you decide you want. This is what I did rather than use the provided black metal panel. I have attached photos.

Hold and press the end cycle by 5 seconds, and try again. However you can disconnect the c.breaker by 5 seconds too. and try again.

Problems disconnecting the wastepipe on an AEG Dishwasher

Pour some bleach into the stinky backwash. I know that this is not good for the environment but it will take the stench away while you get a new dishwasher. Sorry but you have plumbing problems out of my range.

Our AEG Favorit Sensorlogic dishwasher has had no power to it

Open the lower front panel and locate where the water inlet hose is connected. Shut the water off under the sink, disconnect the hose at the water inlet solenoid, then put the loose end into a bowl or pan and turn the under-sink valve on slowly. Do you get water flowing from the hose? If so, then check the solenoid water inlet valve for damage. If the coil is ok, the valve part may be stuck closed. It should make a firm 'click' when the timer is set to start the machine (leave the hose loose). If it doesn't click, the coil may be bad, the valve may be stuck, or the timer is not sending 115 volts to the solenoid. Try a new valve first. If still no click, you may need the professional service. Good luck!

Looks like what you need is available at

Good luck with the new house. Hope the dishwasher works well for you.

Try to run it with dishwasher cleaning kit (no utensils) to make sure everything is clean - that way you will get more life out of it. The cleaning kit (usually Finish) is sold in the supermarket in the detergent section.

Anti flood system triggered that puts the machiene in pump out mode. This machiene has a poor quality "Y" pipe at the bottom that is prone to pin holes in the pipe due to poor quality and extremely thin. The pin holes cause a small amount of water to activate the Anti flood micro switch on the polystireen float at the bottom of the washer.
