Question about Maytag Centennial 3.2 cu. ft. SuperSize Plus Top Load Washer

My washer has stopped filling. I have checked all the suggested reasons and none of them are the issue.

There are only 4 total reasons for this fault 1 your water has been turned of. 2 the lid switch is faulty 3 the most common the water inlet valve is burnt out 4 there is no power signal getting to the water inlet valve try putting the cold water hose onto the hot water inlet switch the washer to hot wash see if the water comes through

    I would love to know how this worked out for you. So far I have had 4 completed service calls for this same problem. Each time they replaced the water sensor unit, the machine washed a couple of loads and then nothing. Maytag will not replace the washer and keeps sending repairmen to "try this" "try that". So far I have had a plumber and an electrician in here as well. The machine still does not work, has not for almost a month now, it is a NEW machine and they will not make this right. So good luck.

Fills Constantly


check the drain hose. Is it in the drain below the fill line of the washer?
In other words -- the drain line should be above the level of the washer lid top and in the line about 4-6 inches

I found a small part (looks like the top part of a pen) in my washer, now when i turn on the washer the goes in but does not stop, does not start the wash cycle. Also door keeps locking and unlocking.


How to run a diagnostic test:
  1. Unplug power cord, then wait 30 seconds.
  2. After plugging in, follow these instructions...
To Enter SERVICE MODE: Press Signal-Delay-5ignal-Delay (within 30 seconds of plugging in washer).
To Exit SERVICE MODE: Repeat Signal-Delay-Signal-Delay.

Here are the possible tests to run (TEST LIST). The error codes from t02 will probably be the best indicator of your problem. (scroll down to bottom to see what each command button does once you are in test mode)

    Model ID
    Verifies (or sets on new board) the proper Model id

    Lists up to 10 control-detected problems

Washer won't agitate it does spin the clothes

Washer Stops Mid-cycle


HI. this is a defective timer mechanism. it must be replaced asap, if possible. the timer is the principal initiator of the units cycles. The motor is defective at this point.

Replace this damaged timer control device asap.

Does not fill


Check the solenoids at the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter or ohmmeter. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid.

it will fill but won,t spin, will throw out water as if it washed, then it take water to rinse but won,t spin ,then will throw out water as if it did , but clothes are soaked

check that none of your hoses are blocked, by pulling the back cover off. If any of these hoses r blocked it will stop the washing machine from working same thing happened to me and thats how i fixed it
