    I'd need to know a couple of things before offering advice. What operating system are you using? What is the model number of the mouse?

You plug in the wireless antenna (probably a USB stick) and then turn on the mouse (assuming the batteries are fully charged). Then turn the mouse over and make sure it's turned on and press the "connect" button. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_cf01f6850bfb477897151238082b50fe(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

    A wireless mouse should not need a driver to just work. If you want to access its extra features, such as programming, then you'll have to download and install any drivers the manufacturer has.

There should be a USB "dongle" (looks like a thumb drive) that functions as the receiver for the mouse. Make sure that is plugged in to your computer. Windows 7 almost always has the appropriate driver already available and will automatically install the receiver on startup. With Vista or XP you may need to download and install (or do so from the CD that came with the device) a specific driver. I'm assuming also that you don't have an install CD, since that would have given you these same instructions. Post again if this doesn't help.

    I just purchased a GE 98548 Ergonomic Wireless Mini Mouse. I followed the instructions to the letter and device still does not work. I also keep getting a window pop up that says USB Device not recognized also saying there is a malfunction and windows does not recognize it. When I try to get the assistance windows is offering, it tells me the device is ready to use and doesn't need driver. but mouse will not work!

How do i open the battery compartment on ge wireless optical mini mouse 98792

The mouse requires 2 AAA batteries.

The piece of plastic on both sides of the embedded dongle, where your palm would rest on the mouse, is the compartment for the batteries. You need to slide the piece of plastic away from the direction of the mouse buttons. You will then be able to put the batteries inside and slip the piece of plastic back on.

Make sure your device manager is recognizing the hardware, you need to go to "start" then your "control panel" and then the "device manager", then try to locate it.

Batteries for GE wireless optical mouse

Normal 0 The GE mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, Try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud
