Question about Timex 50-Lap Ironman Triathlon 59221 Wrist Watch
I've worn my Ironman in the pool many times before. Just had the battery changed for the first time, went in the pool, and now the watch does not work at all. Assuming the battery changing broke the water resistant seal??? any suggestions??
The bad thing about most Timex watches is that once you open them it is very hard to resael them again. The thing is that , the screws are metal, and your trying to tighten them into a plastic back. If you try to tighten them too much you mess up the tap. When the back is first put into the watch there is a very small hole. When they screw them in it's like a wood screw it taps itself in to the back. Once that has been done once it is very hard to keep the same tighteness it started with. Your best bet is to get a watch with a metal screw-on back with a metal casing too. That way you can tourque really hard and make sure the back is tight. If you decide to have the battery changed, make sure they silicon the seal. That's about as much protection agaist water you have with that watch.
