Try replacing the regulator, easy fix. If it is not the regulator, the thermocouple could be bad, or the pilot flame may not be strong enough to heat the thermocouple. Take apart the head, if you are comfortable with it, and see if there is a blockage in the pilot assembly.

I would have suggested the same thing. It may not be cleaning it needs. If the thermocouple has failed, then it needs to be replaced. I sure would start by giving it all a good cleaning though.

SOURCE: I need to convert a Endless Summer Blue Rhino

You would need new pilot and main burner orifices. You would also have to ask the dealer/manufacturer if the valve on the propane heater will work with propane. It may not because the propane tank will have to be connected to the heater using an LP hose and regulator. You would then need to take apart the heater to install the new orifices. Considering the cost of a new heater that is set up for LP, I do not believe the conversion to be practical.

233010, Pilot fires up and heater lights ok but shuts itself off after 5 min. Is one of the thermocouples malfunctioning?

It's possible, Cal, but it could be that the burner and the pilot assembly simply need a thorough cleaning. As, insects love to build nest in the heating part, when they are not being used.

If after cleaning the unit thoroughly, you still have the problem, you can purchase the Thermocouple from the manufacturer, Blue Rhino 1.800.762.1142.

I hope I was able to help you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Flame goes out after 5 to 10 min then have to wait until it cools to relight

Unless, it's the wind blowing the flame out, I'd say the Thermocouple needs to be replaced. This is based on what you said, " have to wait until it cools to relight." The reason for that, is that the burner control valve has to reset itself. You can also check the pilot and pilot orifice for obstructions. Blowing it out with a can of compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) may also help solve the problem. As insects like to build nests in these heaters, when they are not in use.

Endless Summer Patio Heaters are manufactured by Blue Rhino under the name Uniflame and Endless Summer. You can purchase any necessary parts from them online, if necessary.

Hope this helps you to solve your problem.

I have an Endless Summer (Blue Rhino) patio heater with model number 153100 and the pilot flame is not strong enough to keep the thermal coupling open. What has to be done to fix that?

The pilot jet may be clogged. If there is a flame, it must be small and blue. A large flame that is orange or yellow tipped means that there is a partial blockage in the pilot assembly which needs to be cleared. The pilot flame must also touch the thermocouple in order to heat it correctly. Make sure that the pilot jet and thermocouple are positioned correctly. If you have an extremely small pilot flame, try repalcing the regulator and hose as the regulator may be failing.
