First, on the left side of the main screen, you will see an icon that says "WI-FI Power". That's the switch to turn it on. When you click it, a little box will appear that says "turn on" when it's off and "turn off" when it's on.

But maybe you hadn't fully set it up.

Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.

On a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.

For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".

For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet) in order to get your "network keys" fill that in (on the 7" netbook) and then click "OK".

Next (on the 7" netbook) be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are there. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, YouTube, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people have way under-rated this fun little machine!

I followed directions to connect my mac to my belkin wireless router but it disconnected the original PC from the internet and won't re connect it says it is not the right format. How do i reconnect this...

I would try either of the following:
Go to the Belkin support web site to see whether there is a firmware update for your Belkin wireless router. If there is, download and install it per the instruction for your router.
If after updating the router's firmware the problem still occurs, try disabling IPv6 on your Mac. You do this from the "Network" icon in "System Preferences".
Once in the Network page, click the padlock in the lower-lefthand corner to unlock it with your password (if necessary).
Once the padlock is unlocked, click on the "Advanced..." button in the lower right-hand corner.
In the resulting window, click on the "TCP/IP" tab and find the "Configure IPv6:" drop down. Click on the drop-down and change the setting from "Automatically" to "Off".
Click the "OK" button
Click the "Apply" button
Click the padlock to lock the configuration if desired.
Now that IPv6 has been disabled, power-cycle the Belkin router and reboot all of your computers to see whether the network is usable by all of them.

How do i go about geting an ip#?

If you are referring to a Static IP, please call your ISP (Internet Service Provider)
If you are referring to the IP address that your computer needs to get from the DSL modem / Wireless router, then you must give the following details

1. What is the type of internet connection you are using. (Wired / Wireless)
2. Are you using a desktop / laptop
3. What windows you are using

You can also try restarting the modem & the computer and power down completely, even from the walsocket wait for 2 minutes, then plub it on and start again.
