How do I get the sound system to play the tv channels sound. Is it possible?

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2010

Send me the model number and company of the receiver and your set top box. Then I'll tell you how to do it and what type of cable to use.
    Best Regards,
    Mark

Hi Mark - not sure if this is where I reply to you, but thanks for the comment to my question.
I have just bought a Technika home theatre system , model no. HTKSS10. Connected to tv and freeview box via scart lead, followed from intruction book. All works fine for playing music CD's and watching DVD's, but I expected the sound to come through the speaker system when watching normal TV channels too. Not being a techno expert, is this possible?
Do I need to connect some other cable from freeview box to the DVD player?
Hope this is clear enough info, await your reply, thank you. Sandy Leon (female silver surfer!)

Fix blue screen av27870

Hi. Switch off (mains switch) the VCR. Then see if you can change channels with your TV remote. Blue screen mostly means that no channel has been programmed. If there is , you should at least have the sound. So, if you have sound, there is an internal problem in the TV. If no sound appears, try to get into setup mode (button Menu)
and programm your channels. I suppose there is signal on your normal areal connection. Check this out with another TV set, or use the tuner from you VRC. I know there are a lot of possibilities, but you can sort this out, step by step. Good luck.

My wife says that the muteki 7.2 chanel does not need to be going all the time um something todo with the over useage of power so how do i just run the tv without the muteki going as it wont go meani

You can turn off the 7.2 channel surround sound system if you only want to listen to audio on the TV channels, you may need to increase the volume levels on the TV.
Use the 7.2 channel surround sound when you want surround sound when playing DVD movies.

Can i hook up my rca dvd home theater system to my tv so i can get sound from watching tv channels which is hooked up to dish satellite? is this possible?

Hi,

Yes it is possible.

All you need to do is run a cable from the Audio Out on your TV to the Audio In of the DVD.

Then you will be able to get the sound of TV channels from the DVD speakers.

I am not able to hear the dialog while playing DVDs. The background is great and comes through all 5 speakers, however, to be able to listen to the dialog, I have to switch over to 2-channel or Stereo. ...

Well let me first ask is the center chanel working? or properly hooked up. Cause most of the times when in 5.1 the talking or "dialog" as you put it comes only through the center channel its just kinda how they do it. Listen to see if the center channel is working. if you are unsure try hooking up a speaker that you know works into the center channel speaker output. If no sound comes out then the reciever possible has blown its center channel. Please follow up with a comment and i will be glad to assist you further thanks, Midwes-tek

Dvd play + tv sound

This is usually caused by Cheap connecting leads. The sound 'bleeds' from one to another. First make sure your leads are as seperated from one another as possible. Then, before you start up the DVD, turn the tv to a blank channel. Hope this helps.

When I play a DVD in the system I can only get the surround sound out of the speakers but no voices. If I play a CD or hook it up to my tv everything is ok.I have tried a number of DVD's and all have the...

sounds like you need to surround modes. There is usually a Stereo, Dolby, DTS, "virtual surround", 4-speaker mode etc..
When you play a CD or connect to TV it likely defaults to playing stereo or virtual surround.

With real surround, almost all of the voices are coming from the center-channel speaker (normally placed closest to the TV).

Also, check to make sure the center channel is connected properly.

Lg home theater to lg plasma tv

This is a typical problem with TV broadcast UNLESS you use a matrix DSP surround sound mode, most DVD audio is either Dolby digital 5.1 surround or DTS multi-channel surround sound, unless you are viewing a HDTV broadcast with 5.1 Digital sound connected from the TV to the receiver then you are probably receiving a 2 channel Stereo sound format, I would suggest that you try to set your TV input mode to a audio Dolby Pro- Logic which will yield 5.1 and should engage all speakers.

Just want the Orion TV (Model: STV 2763) to play VHS videos

Problem Solved:

Take your connector with the 3 colors red, white & yellow and plug into VCR OUT. The other end (w/ 3 plugs) goes into the INPUT on the back of the TV. Next insert a VHS Tape & search the TV for input or a channel below #2 for Cable#1,2,3 or AUV Channel.

In this case; Channel AUX #1
Shows / Plays Video w/ clear sound & picture.
