I have a lg washer that sometimes it drains and other times it doesn't. the filter is clean and when it doesn't drain it makes no noise like it is tied up. it just sits silent. it fails to pump at different points in the cycle and it is different every time i run the washer. but very rarely does it go through an entire cycle correctly.

Have you removed the hoses to the drain pump and looked for any kind of obstructions. You will need to make sure there is nothing blocking or slowing the impellar wheel.

My lg washer will not drain fills with water and spins. when time to drain just makes funny noise. cleaned drain filter still wont drain

Thanks for choosing FixYa. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging. I want to thank you for reading and I hope this helps you. Best regards and thanks for reading

Got an OE error, now it will not finish rinse and spin, sounds like it is grinding in the spin cycle and the timer is stopped at 27 minutes remaining. What is wrong?

The problem is in the drain system as what error code OE stands for.The grinding noise is coming from the drain pump. Loose change, hair pins and the likes can get into the pump filter and sometimes into the pump impeller causing a grinding noise during the spin cycle because the pump works while the machine is spinning. The pump impeller may also be broken causing the grinding noise.

Disconnect power then open the filter door on the bottom left of the cabinet.

Remove the drain plug and drain the water out completely into a shallow basin or the likes. Once drained, lay a piece of towel under the filter then turn the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it. Clean the filter and reach in the pump impeller to check it if blocked or broken. If cleaning the filter does not solve the problem, you need to access the drain pump assembly and check the pump particularly the impeller thoroughly. My LG washer shoes OE and I don't know what to do??

If I'm not mistaken this is a drain issue so check to make sure nothing has your drain hose kinked or clogged. There is also a drain filter that you need to check and clean if needed. There is a small door cover on the bottom fron of the washer. First pull the tube out a little and hold it over a container then remove the cap. This will drain the pump and when no more water comes out you can remove the drain filter by turning the cap thats next to the tube you just drained. Sometimes there is still a little water left so you may have to clean up a little but not much. Clean the filter if needed and you can also look in the pipe to see if any debris was left in the pipe. Place everything back and this should get you back to doing more laundry.

Washer does not drain, at that point in the cycle the machine makes a clicking noise.

You may have a blocked or jammed drain pump filter.
Check the drain filter as described in the manual. Access is via the small hatch at floor level. Make sure the machine has as little water as possible, because it will empty via the pump when you check the filter. Lean the machine back against the wall to help contain what water is in the machine.
Unscrew the pump filter, check and clean. Also check that the impeller is not jammed by a coin or a hairclip or similar. (That could be the clicking noise.) Replace filter and test. Sometimes the impeller comes off the pumpshaft. In this case the pump motor would need to be replaced by a serviceman...
Good luck....Nomess

LG Wash-Dry WD14700RD pump or solenoid noise

this is indicative of a bad impeller in the drain pump motor, it will most likely need replaced.

Make sure you check the drain filter for any loose coins or articles that may have been trapped and hitting against the drain pump impeller. If it is clear then the motor is indeed bad. Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

Make sure that drain hose and drain filter are not bent or clogged. In case of there are objects in the drain filter, It might drain to slow or not at all. HOW TO CLEAN THE DRAIN FILTER 1. Allow the washer to cool down before cleaning the drain pump filter. 2. Open the lower cover cap with a tool such as coin. 3. At this time use a catch pan to prevent water from flowing onto the floor. Unplug the drain plug, allowing the water to flow out. When water does not flow any more, turn the pump filter open to the left. 4. Remove any foreign objects from the pump filter. After cleaning, turn the pump filter clockwise and insert the drain plug to the original place. Close the lower cover cap.
