My camera has been on a easyshare dock a very long time. One time when the dock was unplugged, I plugged it back in, and put the camera on it. It had a blinking red light, which is had never shown before. I upplugged the dock and replugged and put the camera back on. It seemed fine, but Christmas day when I wanted to take pictures with my camera, the zoom lens would not work, and then I couldn't view the pictures anymore. My husband went and bought a new battery, we put it in, and put it on the dock, it will not charge, and does not work anymore. The dock still lights up, but only one light is on, and I used to see three other green lights lit. My camera is not working at all now Carolina Piele

Terrible time for a camera to fail, sorry. It sounds like the dock might be bad, and failing to recharge the new battery. The old battery may have been at the end of it's life, also.
Other problems can cause these symptoms, which can be power or lens related, but are probably power, in your case.
You need to measure the voltage out of your dock, and verify if it's working, that's the first thing to do. If it isn't, get another one off Ebay, and it might solve your problem.
You should also ensure the battery contacts inside the camera are not oxidized, and clean. Use a qtip and alcohol, or a pencil eraser- whatever you can to clean it.

If nothing helps, take it into a camera repair shop and get an estimate- sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new one, especially after-Christmas sales, etc.
