It sounds like there is a leak in the carburetor. The fuel hoses can get cracked and leak, and the gaskets in the carburetor can get old, even after a single season. I would double check the hoses and gaskets, and if they are worn I would take it for service.

2004 Hyundai Santa Fe starts but then wants to die. Could it be the fuel filter?

If it hasnt been done already, it's a good place to start. Be careful to release pressure before removing it!

1994 ford thunderbird acts like its going to die rpms and volts go down and then comes back up. but recently it has started to actually die

I don't think any of these answers so far hit the nail in the head. First off... Fuse guy is most likely wrong. Fuel pumps work or they don't. You having an intermittent problem would eleminate that. I would start with #1 cheap and #2 easy. Take it to O'Reilly if you have any codes. Post them as an update to this question. I would start by running a can of GOOD fuel system cleaner through. I prefer Chevron. After that tank is used up, change your fuel filter. Check your spark plugs to see how bad they are. Do this while the engine is cool do you don't burn yourself and it lessens the chance of getting burned. My rough idle problem actually turned out to be a faulty coolant temp sensor, which is also pretty cheap and easy to change out. Check fuel pressure by "renting" a fuel pressure tester at O'Reilly. They give you a100%refund when you're done using it. Look up your fuel pressure specs online and see if you have a weak pump. Many other options to try at home. Keep us up to date!

Starts idles for a minute then dies

Have you checked the actual fuel pipes for flow ? You might need a carb refurbish kit. Weak vacuum causes similar type problems.

Coleman Powermate 1000 Starts fine then revs up and dies

Hi, I just pulled out my Coleman Generator (1000) and it actually started then died. Has been sitting for about 10 months. I ran it out of fuel before putting away. Anyways, it starts for a minute than dies. If I press fuel primer it keeps running but than it dies. So, I took the cover off, the one towards exhaust side and was able to see carburetor. There are two screws with springs on them. I guess these screws control fuel and air for carburetor(you can clearly see they are on carb). As stated above there are not many adjustments. There is no choke for the model I have; just an on and off switch and fuel prime button. The instructions say fuel it up (with the right oil/petrol mix of coarse), switch it to "on", prime it, pull starter cord and then that's it......"not happening". Okay, so I took my little flat head screwdriver and backed out each screw while counting how many times I turned, until I was able to remove completely(PLEASE remove one at a time and take note which one went where AND how many times you backed out). Take a can of carb cleaner with the straw and shoot through the holes where the screws came out of. I shot carb cleaner a couple pumps in each hole. Examine each of screws removed as these have pointed ends(replace if damaged). Put screws back; again make sure you count how many turns. This worked for me. Idles perfect. Thanks!

The engine dies when i put into gear 1st time but not after.

Sounds like idle speed motor may need cleaning, or replace. Doesn't cost more than $5-$10 for a can of throttle body cleaner, and some time, to pull it off & clean & retry before spending too much on other areas. Tuned up, and fuel filter changed lately?
