During the daytime point the scope at a distant object like the top of a telephone pole. Without moving the scope adjust the small finder scope crosshairs so they point to the same spot.

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal. This is your lowest magnification. Practice focusing on a distant object using this low power eyepiece.

Benq camera . Zoom out of the camera no longer operate and emits sound as if there is something aperture of the lens ..... Please reply disadvantage , and how to fix it

Hi Beshoui,
I believe your zoom lens is not extending when you power on. In most cases like this, there is likely a foreign body (sand) or similar objects lodged between the lens tubes or the camera has been subjected to a knock (dropped, bumped against a solid surface) that caused the lens tube to miss-align. All you need to do is:
1. as you switch on the camera, give a little knock/ tapping with your fingers around the lens.
2. if that fails, apply a little pressure to the sides of the lens ring while powering on your camera.

Lets hope that will help to dislodge the foreign body or the lens tube miss-alignment.

My samsung pl20 camera was dropped and it say the zoom did not operate normally

Pull gently back and forth on the lens while in outward position. Do this several times until you hear a click. This will put the lens back in place and should go in and out afterwards with no problems. The lens was knocked out of alignment when dropped and do the above will put it back into alignment.

Unless you have a lens collimator and other equipment required to ensure proper alignment when you disassemble and then reassemble the lens, you'll have to pay to replace or repair your lens after you attempt it.

My DSLR slipped and landed on my feet. Now I can take pictures but i couldn't rotate my lens. What could be done?

The lens's zoom ring has been knocked out of alignment. This causes sticking at certain points along the zoom and focusing range, and may even influence whether the lens can auto-focus. In order to have this fixed, you should take it to a camera shop to have it repaired, or send it to the manufacturer. They should provide you a quote at which point you can decide if it is worth repairing or replacing.
For example, if it is a $100 lens new, and they want $100 to repair it, it makes more sense to simply buy a new one.
The other alternative is to simply treat your lens like a prime lens, that is one that has no zoom, and move the camera into the correct position for a shot instead of zooming.
Whatever you decide to do, thank you for choosing FixYa!

lens is damaged, there fragile & don't take impact very well. does the lens move & sit propper? if so then its a small lens that's not seated propperly or the electrical ribbon from the lens needs to be reinstalled but my guess is lens damage

The zoom does not respond

Hello. The stuck lens assembly is triggering an error condition--and you get the "press reset" to make you reset the internal computer in the cam. Was the unit dropped or did it have some sort of impact--this would cause the internal lens mechanism to become mis-aligned. Also, leaving the cam in a hot car can cause grease(or other lubricants) to flow to movement surfaces, thereby causing a "glue" effect. Look into the lens(cam off) under a bright light and try to determine if the internal lens assembly is crooked. Also, try to see if there is any "wet" area appearing anywhere(especially if the cam was exposed to heat--classic symptom) If the lens assembly is indeed mis-aligned, the cam must be sent to a repair facility. (Also, make sure the battery is fully charged as a weak charge will cause lens jamming(and a whole host of weird phenomenons)---Rick

Zoom does not work

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.

Broken Zoom on Fuji Finepix F470

Try turning the power on and gently pulling the lens outward as it powers up. This may force the gears to re-align themselves. Use "fingertip" pressure only. Don't force it excessively. Also try turning on, and then applying slight pressure to the front of the lens while you power it off. You can also try rotating the lens barrel segments while it powers up or shuts off. Sometimes either can get the lens back on track.
