The belt is most likely broken. To get the top off,it may just lift up,or pull slightly forward and lift,or it may be bolted on with most likely a maximum of 4 bolts. When you lif the top, there are basically only 2 wheels. One is for the motor which turns the dryer(usually a small gear),the other end wraps around the dryer section(much larger). You will need your make and model to order a new belt.Depending on how large of a populated area you live in,someone should have one like a used appliance center. If they do not have 1 in stock, your best bet would be to call the manufacturer and order one directly from them.If the appliance center offers to order one do not bother with them. They will most likely add charges which will most likely make it cost more than getting it yourself. If they claim the can get one at a discounted price,it still most likely will not be worth your time and $ as you can have one sent directly to your house. When you have the top open, spin the smaller wheel to check the rotation. There may be someresistance due to the motor, but it still should have smoothness. If it is difficult to turn, you may want to contact the manufacturer for better info but I have never had much difficulty spinning it.When you install the belt, make sure the 2 wheels are well aligned.Just spin by hand a few times and check for wobbling. This should be a simple repair. One time someone GAVE me a dryer for the same reason,I opened the top and saw no belt.I paid about $8 for a new belt, used it for about a year and ended up selling it for $125.Yahoo!If you have any questions or need more help, just comment here and I will get an autolink to your post and reply ASAP.Good luck,Greg

My ASKO T781 butterfly dryer is heating up but not tumbling/spinning

If yourdryer is not starting then it is your motor. To determine this there is a trick you can try. First, put a piece a tape over the safetyswitch on the dryer. Take one hand andspin your drum of your dryer as your press the start button. If it takes off, then there is a bad spot onthe motor. Another thing is to try checkto see if you are getting 220 Volts to you outlet by taking a volt meter set at250 volts. Take the red leg of the volt meterto the one side and the black leg to the other side. If the volt reader reads 220 then you aregetting the proper voltage. Finally, ifyou are getting 220 volts then it is your dryer heating elements. On a 220 volt for the dryer one leg is forthe motor and leg is for the element. Ifyou are getting 220 volts then it is more than likely you have bad motor.

Asko Dryer stops running when you release the start button.

Hi, this is a simple issue here. these switches will fail from time to time. the start switch is unable to hold the circuit, in return, opening it upon release of the button.

Simply replacing the switch will fix this issue. switch is 20 dollars tops.

Disabled neighbor was given an ASKO T780 dryer, but it doesn't heat up. What could the problem be so I might be able to fix it for him?

most likely if the dryer does everything except heat up the heating element is bad if you take it apart it will be directly behind the holes inside the dryer

Aslo T700 Dryer Heats but won't dry.

TRY DISCONNECTING THE EXHAUST FROM THE BACK OF THE DRYER AND RUN ONE LOAD THROUGH IT. IF IT DRIES O.K., THEN YOU HAVE A RESTRICTION IN THE DUCT WORK.
