Normally when resetting a jailbroken iPhone the phone freezes and will not startup. Unfortunately there is no other fix for this issue unless you install the latest software from Apple. 1. Connect the iPhone to your computer. 2. Open iTunes on your computer and click Restore.
This will download the latest software for your iPhone and install it.

Reset it with the home and power buttons until it shows the apple logo. If not, put it in DFU mode, but it will erase everything you have.

I reset my iphone 3g now all I have is the apple sign. It will not turn on

If your iPhone is jailbroken and you pressed reset all content, the phone will really not load and will be stuck on the apple logo. What you have to do now is to restore the phone using iTunes. To be able for iTunes to detect your iPhone in recovery mode and enable you to restore, you have to enter dfu mode. Just press the home button and sleep button simultaneously for 10 seconds then release the sleep button but still hold the home button until iTunes can detect the phone. Then press restore and let it do the rest of the process.

Iphone 3gs stopped working. just shows apple logo then turns itself off

try irecovery or ireb to get it out
it can be found on ih8sonw

recommended : ireb, easyrecovery 2.5, tinu umbrella (use it just to kick it out of recovery loop)

if that doesnt solve the problem then restore the firmware through the itunes..
just connect it to itunes and it will detect it in recovery mode, if it doesnt then put your phone in DFU mode and then restore it.

the method to put it in DFU mode can be found on GOOGLE..

Iphone 3Gs 16gb Erase All content and settings problem

If your iPhone is jailbroken, it usually gets stuck. To fix it, make your phone go to DFU mode. Connect your phone to your PC or MAC and open up itunes. iTunes will detect your phone in DFU mode, then simply restore phone by following the instructions given from iTunes.

Iphone 3GS jailbroken and unlocked 3.0.1 - emergency call mode

Apple's recommendation worked for me... Unplug the USB cable. Turn the phone off. Then hold the Home button while reconnecting the USB cable.
follow the link below,
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808?viewlocale=en_US

Alternate option is,
just have him keep trying to put it into DFU mode over and over again, sould work with in 1-10 tries. if you get stuck on something like this, i suggest he just keep trying to do the same thing, change things around, unplug things and then plug em back in.

good luck on not being stuck. stay with 1.1.2!

I have a jailbroken , 3g iphone . i wanted to delete some things that i could only do by going to reset data and settings , so i did that , and now when i power on my iphone it only shows the apple logo...

Step 1. Turn off your iPhone.
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
Alternative Method:

Step 1. Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.
Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.
Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.
