Pedal problems Hi I'm temping in an office and the desk dictaphone is seriously old. Its a beige Philips System 500 Hi-Q. For some reason, when I press the foot pedal to play, its rewinding the tape. Any ideas?

If the tape re-winds when you take your foot off the pedal then the auto-rewind switch on the right side of the machine at the back is set to number 3. Move it forward to number 1 or 0. If it really does rewind while your foot is on the pedal then I don't know what is causing that. Sorry.

At what stores can I buy office desks in the United States?

Hi, You can buy office desks from any online store or nearby store. But I think you should only for the store, who have the latest furniture with technology features.

As modern furniture are made to rectify the issues and quality problems faced by peoples previously.

I would like to recommend you SMARTdesks, For collaborative furniture online and go through their products, to find the one that fits your requirement. Here I have posted some products of them.

Foot pedal does not work for my Dictaphone model 2750 Where can I purchase a replacement

Make sure the foot pedal is plugged into the SIDE of the machine and not the BACK of the machine. I've seen many people make this mistake...

Foot pedal FF or Rewinds when pressing Play

It's possible that there's a broken wire in the cable that connects the foot control to the machine. This usually happens near the plug that plugs into the machine, or by the end that goes into the foot control.

You can usually duplicate it if you put the auto-backspace up a bit and then hold down the play pedal on the foot control. While holding down the play pedal, try moving the cable near the machine or near the foot control in a circular motion. If the machine stops, rewinds or fast forwards, then odds are that the problem is with the cable.

Dictaphone foot pedal

It would be easier/cheaper to buy another foot pedal.
The older style had "leaf" switches in them and they are adjustable from below the foot control. There are 2 screws underneath each switch. Loosen up the one closer to the front of the pedal (just a little) and tighten the one in the back the same amount. This will raise the angle of the switch to make it more sensitive (lighter pressure to activate).

Dictaphone MicWiz

Catherine, did you ever get an answer for your problem with MicWiz? I am a transcriptionist that works from home and they are having problems getting it to recognize my foot pedal (as well as another MT) with the new software. It is recognized by Express Scribe and ever other system we use, but not Merge.
Thank you, Cindy

Dictaphone does not turn on

There is a small hole in the back of the unit. This activates the firmware update. My experiense is someone pushed this in with a pin and caused the switch to be stuck. You can disassemble the unit and use a pin to pry the bubble switch up or off. This switch is only needed to update the firmware which can also be done thre software so is not needed.
