My printer lights ( all three) are blinking with error message of "cartridge problem" I have tried to replace the cartridge with no success and cleaning the cartridge but no luck. Please help.

In this case you will need two new cartridges to identify the problem.
Take one new color cartridge and one black. Now, remove both the old cartridges and install the new ones and restart the printer.
Most probably your issue should be resolved.
Please ensure that you are using the following cartridges only.
Print cartridge information Part name Part description Product number Print cartridge Black HP No. 15 (equivalent to HP C6615 series) Print cartridge Tri-color HP No. 78 (equivalent to C6578 series)

If one of the contact pins in the printer is damaged you will need to replace your printer. I don't think it is a problem with the cartridge because it is highly unlikely that you would get three HP cartridges in a row with damaged chips on the cartridges.

Download the Kyocera Driver Deleter tool from here:

Run the tool and delete the driver for your HP. Disconnect the printer, then use Add/Remove programs to uninstall the HP software.

Reboot.

Reinstall the HP software and reconnect the printer when prompted by the software install.

After this I didn't get the message again.

Hope this helps!

Hp officejet 6110 not printing with black ink

Hi lilacky-

Here are some HP support links that might be helpful... and a couple questions to consider.

Q: Is your new cartridge one of these listed below?
"The HP Officejet 6100 series and HP Digital Copier Printer 410 products use the print cartridges listed below:
* HP 56 black print cartridge
* HP 57 tri-color print cartridge
* HP 58 photo cartridge (replaces the HP 56 black print cartridge for six-ink photo printing)" info from: Installing a Print Cartridge

Has your cartridge been sitting a while in the box, maybe in a warm spot? Some times even new cartridges dry out a little. Was your old cartridge low or completely gone? Just as a test, if you put it back in your printer does the old cartridge work? Any printer error messages? Can you print a test page or an alignment page for your black cartridge? These might be too many questions but here are some HP support links with some How To information for getting more answers. Please let me know if any of these are helpful. see also: Slow or No Response from Printer

How do I install an ink cartridge? HP photosmart c5280 All in one

To replace the print cartridges Perform the following steps to replace the print cartridges:
  1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on. CAUTION: If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for changing. The HP All-in-One can get damaged if the print cartridges are not docked safely when trying to remove them.
  2. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One. Figure 1: Opening the print cartridge door c00956268.gif
  3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. If replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the left. 6. Hold the print cartridge with the HP logo on top, and insert the new print cartridge into the empty cartridge slot. Make sure to push the print cartridge firmly until it snaps into place. If installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot. If installing a black, photo, or gray photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot. Print cartridge in right stall not supported.

As a refiller, I've seen this many times. Usually it happens in the multifunction machines. If you put that cartridge in a stand alone printer, it will work good. HP all in ones blow a resistor in the cartridge making it useless to any all in one machine. Sadly, it is time to buy new.
