Question about Frigidaire Electric Dryer
Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. After reading the service manual, the E9e code is a line voltage problem. It is cause by low voltage or intermittent voltage. This could be a loose connection in the dryer plug or at the terminal block. There can also be a problem with a hot terminal connection cause by a loose terminal. It can also be a problem with your local utility power. Voltge has dropped below 215VAC to cause this code to appear. My suspicions are a loose / hot connection either at the wall connection or dryer terminal block. You may have to replace the dryer cord or receptacle. Possibly even replace the terminal block if it has been damaged. You should also check to see that your main CB for the dryer is properly seated in the power panel. If it is not seated correctly it can also cause this symptom. Press the CB to OFF by physically pushing it to the OFF position and then back to ON. By doing so you did a complete reset of both CB power connections internally. Press hard on the face of the CB with your thumb to make sure it is seated in the power panel. Pressing cancel should clear this fault after repairs have been completed.
The repair manual can be found here: Fault code is listed on page 16 of the link to the left. The terminal block connections are on pages 37 and 38. Just note there is a major difference between a 3 prong and 4 prong power cord connection. The terminal block ground is re-configured for a 4 pronged plug. If you have to replace the terminal block make a hand written diagram FIRST! Number the wires with marked masking tape if you have too. I am pretty certain that when you find the source of the low voltage problem your dryer will be fine. Currently it is reacting to low or intermittent input power.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
