Hi. Alf here I have a Victa Commando 50 year anniversary model which won't run unless i keep pushing the primer, when i stop pushing it the mower cut's out.Any help would appreciated.Alf

it's in the carburetor. If it runs while being forced fuel then it means that the carb isn't supplying enough if any fuel for it to run on it's own. Take the carb apart as far as you can and make sure all the little orifices are clean

the Primer bulb most likely has a crack in it. If it does then there won't be sufficient suction to draw in the fuel. Also, if you remove the carburetor, separate the upper and lower halves so you can get to the fuel bowl, check that the float needle isn't sticking inside the hole. Look for dirt and other contaminates.
Do you by chance have the model # of the mower? It will be in the following format: XXX.XXXXXXX The model # sticker is usually located on the deck behind the engine. And what HP is the Engine? (It should be a Briggs and Stratton.

Your carbs main jet is blocked. Using the primer supplements the fuel input and keeps the engine from becoming fuel starved.

You need to remove the main jet and run a strand of fine wire through the jet to clear it.

Carburator issue. If you have some mechanical abilty you can pull the carb off else take it to a shop. You probably left gas in it off season. Either the main jet is clogged or the float valve is stuck. Either way, remove the carb, tae off the bottom cover and clean everything out with gum out or a carb cleaner. reassemble and eveything should be fine.

You have a clog in the gas flowing into the carburetor. Get some carb cleaner (the spray kind is fine). Drain or siphon the gas out of your mower and discard. Put a little fresh gas and a little carb cleaner in the tank. Run it through. Do this a few times if necessary. When you get new gas, add a gas stabilizer like Sea Foam.

My toro mower starts and will run for ablut 15 minutes and starts to cut out and eventually stop running. What could be the problem
