If you have to move the whole machine then I would say you have a bad wire somewhere. If you have to move the timer around then you have a bad timer.

We have a maytag intellidry atlantis gas dryer model #MDG7600 AWQ the timer knob has come off the dryer how can we get this dryer working?

You should be able to purchase a new knob through the website and it is fairly easy to put back on. Check websites such as http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ in addition to the Maytag website

I have a Maytag Atlantis dryer with intellidry sensor. it will not heat up enough to dry clothes - it just is slightly warm. The sensor always says "damp"

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. No Heat issue in dryer is usually caused due to three things - thermal Fuse, Wiring Harness and/or Heating Element. Start with checking the Thermal Fuse which is mounted inside the back cover panel to the exhaust duct and is mounted in plastic housing. If that’s fine then the Heating Element should be checked. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

I have a maytag dryer and when you start it the timer doesn't move - it will run for hours unless you stop it. now when you pull the knob to start it doesn't respond

Sounds like the problem is in your timer contacts, in which case you would have to replace your timer. A no heat scenario on auto dry could also cause a dryer to run continuously.

Hope this helps _MJ_

Our Maytag Intellidry PYE4558AYW dryer will not turn on

Check the door interlock switch. If it is defective, the machine will not start. If no help, then there may be trouble in the control panel.

Howdy: It seems the "smart switch settings" has died. It is in the switching circuit. It all comes in one unit. Take it out and have it tested at an appliance store. Good luck - Doug

Only heats on timed drying

Our Kenmore dryer had the same sort of problem (different catchy names.

Problem was that in "smart" modes (by what ever name, the timer motor runs in series with a "dampness" sensor (thermostat, actually, I think) and A RESISTOR.

Resistor burns out--this is the symptom set.
