In MY Computer, check to see if the DVD drive icon is there.
Try a different DVD or CD brand
Check the sata or IDE cable connection to the rear of the drive and also the security of the power rail

My dell dimension e 310 at different random times wont power on. when i turn on my power strip no lights on the tower are lit which is normal , but when i press the power button nothing happens after doing...

An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Since you replaced the power supply, my guess is that the motherboard has a problem.
Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

I have a Dell Dimension E520. The DVD burners light is solid green light and wont open. Computer is not detecting this drive

-To open the drive you need to get a pin and insert it to the pin hole. About the drive is not being detected I will assume that it was not shown on My computer/Computer. What you need to do is Start > Run > Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318; look for the upper filter on the right side as well as lower filter. If you can find any of those then you can chose to delete it. After you deleted the upper and lower filters restart the comptuer and check if the DVD drive is listed under My Computer/Computer.

Sounds like either you have a faulty drive, it is not plugged in correctly, or the drivers are not there or bad. I would try to find the drivers for your system and make sure they are up-to-date; if this does not work the system will have to be opened up to determine if the drive is faulty or just not plugged in the way it is supposed to be. Without doing some troubleshooting personally I would say these are the most likely options, always start with the simplest first rather than opening up the system, especially if you a not much of a technical person. If you have anymore questions please let me know. Hope this helps.

Light in front comes on but nothing else

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to boot

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

Dell Dimension 4700 CD/DVD drive not reading

The CD Drive has probably gone bad. You will have to buy a replacement drive. I recommend newegg.com. The price will be about 30$ for a DVD burner. If you want just a DVD player or CD Burner then it will be even cheaper. Dell provides a very easy to read step by step guide with pictures on replacing your drive here:

Good Luck!

Hope this helped!
