The spring goes parellel to the rail to the opposite side of the machine, around the pulley, back to the other pulley, then back to the other side wher there should be a hlo to put the spring back on. if there is no end on the spring to attach it just take a half coil on the end and bend it out with a pair of hemostats or needlenose pliers.
