To resolve this error permanently, you must repair the Office 2003 installation. This resolution is intended for advanced computer users. If you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting, you might want to ask someone for help or contact Support. For information about how to do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/ (http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/) Repair the Office 2003 installation To repair the Office 2003 installation, use the Local Installation Source Tool. You can download the Local Installation Source Tool from the following Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=10FA7AA3-695B-42C3-9045-B812BA0FED3E&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=10FA7AA3-695B-42C3-9045-B812BA0FED3E&displaylang=en) After you have downloaded the tool, double-click the LISTool.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.

The Local Installation Source Tool is a wizard that helps manage your Local Installation Source (LIS) on computers that are running Microsoft Office 2003. The LIS is the group of installation files that Setup copies to a hidden folder on your computer when you install Office 2003 from a CD or from a compressed CD image on a network. The LIS Tool lets you enable or disable the LIS, and to move the MSOCache folder to a new volume.

Note If these methods do not work, the files in the \MSOCache\All Users\download code folder may not match the files on the CD that you provided. Make sure that the CD that you inserted matches the product that is being requested. For example, the product that is already installed on the computer may be Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. However, the CD may contain files for Microsoft Office Professional Enterprise Edition 2003. If this is the case, remove the Microsoft Office product, and then install the product again from the available CD.

Before you install Microsoft Word 2003 on your computer you must check if your operating system is compatible with the system requirements of the program. To locate general information regarding your operating system: Click on the Start button in Microsoft Windows. Locate My Computer or Computer which is generally located on the right hand side of the menu. This will open a window displaying folders such as Owner's Documents, DVD/CD-Rom Drive, and Local Disk (C:). Find the System Tasks menu on the right hand side of the My Computer window and click on View System Information. This will open a window displaying General information such as what edition, version, and service pack you currently have installed, as well as how much memory you have available and what processor you are working with. All Microsoft Word 2003 components have approximately the same system requirements: A Microsoft Windows XP operating system or Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or later. A minimum of 64MB of RAM and a recommended 128MB of RAM. 245MB of memory and 115MB of available disk space on your hard drive. A Pentium III processor is recommended; however, a Pentium 233 MHz Processor or higher is required. A monitor with 256 colors and Super VGA (800x600). A CD-Rom drive and a mouse Some additional requirements are necessary to operate specific Microsoft Word 2003 add-ons and/or components: You will need Windows Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher to access InfoPath 2003. To use speech recognition software, you will need a Pentium II 400MHz processor or higher. Office OneNote 2003 requires a Tablet PC pen input to capture handwritten notes in digital ink. The Internet and a Webcam are needed to enjoy the full collaboration benefits of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. Once you have checked all your system requirements, you are ready to install Microsoft Word 2003: Click Start in Microsoft Windows. Once the Start menu is visible, click on Control Panel. From here, click on the Control Panel icon to open the Control Panel window. Open Add or Remove Programs. In this window you will see options to add programs from a CD-Rom or as part of a Windows Update. Click on CD or Floppy. A window will appear that will walk you through the installation process. First, insert the Microsoft Word 2003 installation disk into your CD-Rom drive and select Next. After carefully following the instructions in this window, you will be prompted to restart your computer. After doing so you will be notified that a new program has been added - Congratulations! You now have Microsoft Windows 2003 on your computer!

Dont like the fact that I do not have the toolbars as I did in 2003 edition. How can I get back to 2003 version?

if you've recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 from 2003 and weren't happy with the decision, you can easily revert back to your older software. Each version of the Office software package will be considered a different program by your computer's operating system, so to revert back to your previous installation you only need to uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall Office 2003. Difficulty: Easy flow my Instructions
  1. Uninstall Office 2007. To do this, open the "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs." Click "Microsoft Office 2007" and then click "Remove."
  2. Put your Microsoft Office 2003 compact disc in your computer's appropriate drive. Either a CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive will work.
  3. Click "Next" to begin the installer for Office 2003. Continue to click "Next" until you reach the screen where you are asked for your product key code. Enter the product key code found in the Office 2003 packaging and click "Next."
  4. Enter your name, business name and initials (if you so choose). Click "Next."
  5. Choose which type of installation you would like to perform. You can choose to install each program in the Office 2003 productivity pack, a "typical" installation which installs only the most widely used programs like Word and PowerPoint, or a custom installation where you individually choose which programs will be installed.
  6. Click "Next" to view a summary of all of the installation settings you've specified. If you're happy with the summary, click "Install." This will install Microsoft Office 2003 on your computer using the settings you've meticulously specified.
hope that it will be help full

How do I reconfigure microsoft office standard edition 2003?

Try repairing your office installation. To do that you will go to your control panel and select Add Remove Programs. Find your Microsoft Office 2003 and click on it like you would remove it. There you should be able to select repair instead of remove. This will repair the installation and should fix your problem.
