    Hi Daniel,

    Now I need to know HOW to check the door switch and the capacitor. If you will walk me through it, I think I can handle it. Thanks.

    I have a EuroPro TO160 Convection Toaster Oven that isn't heating up and power light isn't coming on. Daniel answered my problem: 1st check door switch...can't find anything remotely resembling a switch on or around the door. 2nd check the capacitor...it shows power according to my circuit tester. It looks like a dead soldier on my counter and he hasn't answered my follow-up question or given me a schematic to follow, so I'm looking for help in resolving this issue before I quit and go to bed. Thanks.

    No help since I didn't know what grids you were talking about. However, we took the thing apart, cleaned some electrical contacts (without getting shocked by residual power in capacitor), tried it out and it is now working. I probably won't use this site again because you all talk like we're competent technicians instead of DIY'rs. Thanks anyway, at least it didn't cost me $80 for a service call to fix an appliance that only cost $49!!!

Hi

When this unit won't heat then the first thing to check is the door switch, if the door switch is fine then check the high voltage capacitor. You should replace the part that has gone bad. Hope this helps...

Check for correct power at the heating elements, if its there, the elements are burned or shorted.

I have a Brevelle 800 toaster oven that starts, but does not heat up. What part needs replacing?

There is a thermal fuse that breaks power to the heating elements if it gets too hot (somewhere around 173 C. I replaced mine with an identically rated fuse and it was good for a week until I tried to cook twice in succession. I then replaced the fuse with one that trips at around 190C and it's been good for 4 months now. The fuse costs about $6 on ebay (shipping included) and takes about an hour to replace.

Power light out and doesn't heat

Ticking sound when unplugged? It sounds like a mechanical timer. Check the timer / control setting is actually on a cooking cycle. The unit may be set on delayed start? If there is no power to the unit, there may be a fuse inside it. You may have to take the back / side off to see.

The thermostat may have failed. It could be adjustable mechanically but not electrically.

Will not shut off.

Your timer is broken, kind of like mechanical watches and grandfather clocks, and music boxes.... If you over wind they no longer work properly or at all. The coild that stops and starsts it doesnt lock any more and now it doesn't know when it is technically done. SO my dear, you now have the best, awkward toaster oven :]

Heating units bottom stopped working. Then the top heating bars stopped working. It's a radiant oven.

it is several prosibilites for your problem:
1) the wire of the oven is damaged;
2) the thermostat is decalibrated or damaged;
3) one or more heating element is intrerupted or burned.
solution's:
1) check the wire an replace or repair where is posible whit similar heat resistant wire;
2) replace the thermostat whit similar one;
3) replace the heating element

Krups FBC2 Convection Toaster Oven Simply no power at all.

Having a toaster oven and a coffee maker on the same circuit is asking the breaker to trip in the house electrical panel, but I guess that you have learned the drill: only one appliance on at a time. Try moving the oven to the working side of the socket (the two socket sections can be spit apart and power each half from a separate house breaker and wiring). If the oven now works, check for a tripped breaker in the house panel. If the oven still doesn't work, look for a reset button near the cord entry point. Many heating type appliances have a thermal fuse that opens when things get too hot, but you need to get inside the cover where the cord enters.

this is all to common . what thought happend did happen . the control board went bad and the elements where stuck on . inside there is a thermal fuse ,it blew out and saved you from haveing a fire but now the oven is dead . if you replaced the fuse it would just do it again and the board cannot be bought so your out of luck . on your next oven stay away from electronic controls . i am shocked you got 3 years out if it ,most go bad mutch sooner
