Moen & Replacement Cartridge Logo
Posted on Dec 28, 2010

Moen, sgl, handle, pull out syrayer, very hard to rotate, took apart & inside trunk-very rusted and corroded, cleaned & lubed with o-ring lube. Definently helped. Should the inside of this faucet be that corroded after 5yrs old? Also does not get very hot water when calling for full hot water.

Hi Sharon,

Please give Moen customer service a call. If you are the original owner your faucet may still be under warranty. Regardless, you should give them a call at 1-800-BUY-MOEN to see what can be done.

Thanks

Moen troubleshooting

A common problem with kitchen faucets is the o-rings that seal it become dry. Although they are somewhat lubed at the factory when installing them the installed wipes down the area to clean it wiping off the lubricate. At first the faucet works fine but over time the lack of lube causes the o-rings to become sticky. The easiest solution is to pull the faucet apart and purchase some fuacet lube and lube up the o-rings and parts and re-assemble. If for some reason you have hard water this can cause buildup of deposits and in turn dry out the o-rings and make the surfces rough which can cause the same problem you are having. Again disassemble and clen, lube reassemble.

Moen banbury faucet repair

I had a look at the installation guide and exploded diagram, It seems that the whole assembly will be tightened when the mounting nut is put on.

Facet will not move left to right for both sinks hard to get it to turn

remove the handle then there is a retaining nut under that, remove the nut and as you push right to left pull up at the same time. Get smoe food grade lube and repalce as you took it a part

Best of luck

We have a moen TS275 shower head and are having a hard time getting the tempature to change. We took it apart but now do not see any reason for it to not be working. I have looked up on the web site for...

There is an anti-scald device in handle of shower valve, instruction book will tell you how adjust temperature.you have to take out little white splined ring that is just inside handle and rotate the ring to adjust the handle stop this will give you more hot water.

Moen monticello kitchen spout does not rotate easily

It needs to be taken off and lubed. If you don't have plumber lube you can use vegy oil but it will not last like plumbers lube.

How do you remove a cartiarigde from moen shower body (single handle)

There is a special tool that yo can use to remove an old and stuck moen cartridge and they can found at your hardware store. Now before you remove the cartridge be sure to remove a small brass or copper pin located at the top of the stem. you will see a groove in the stem cover where the pin is located. once the pin is removed hookup the puller and remove stem. sometime you are able just to grab the stem with a pair of pliers and give a good pull and twist to get it out. don't pull to hard to damage the plumbing in the wall. good luck and I hope I was able to help. As always, TURN OFF THE WATER FIRST...

I was able to figure out how to get the handles apart, but can't figure out for the life of me how to get the center spout removed. Faucet is a Moen & Villeta Two Handle Lavatory Faucet

I took a look at the brand on the web and though I do not know your model, it appears that the center spout would have to be loosened from down under the sink and then pulled up from the top. Those units usually come in three parts, two valves and the spout. The valves are put in from under the vanity/sink and the spout is put in from above the vanity/sink.

the set screw in the handle is not tight enough. I suggest you remove handle, remove set scew, clean and lube set screw, re install screw and fully run in and out several times. THEN out it back on the faucet ball stem.
