glove box light, trunk light, it is a current draw overnight
to know if there is a current draw is to connect a ampmeter to battery , ignition switch off, close all doors. if ampmeter read higher than 50mA then remove one fuse at a time when ampmeter change you have the circuit that draw the current and battery dead

Eps light indicating. does not go off when engine running

Did you change the battery? IF so that can cause this. The EPS is electric power steering. There is a motor that assists the steering system and if you remove the battery, it can have problems. If you hit something and the alignment went out or if you had it aligned by someone that does not know about these, it can cause problems.

2006 pt cruiser battery light comes on but alternator is fine

I believe the main cause of your confusion is that you are assuming that your charging system consists of only the alternator, the battery, and the battery cables.

Your alternator is controlled by your Powertrain Control Module (PCM) The FIRST STEP in diagnosing this system is scanning the PCM for fault codes. Then the computer data (Battery Input Voltage PID) should be checked to see if the PCM is reading the same voltage that your volt meter is reading at the battery. If you have not done that, then you are shooting yourself in the foot trying to figure it out.

Internally shorted or sulfated batteries is a VERY COMMON cause of these symptoms. Proper testing of the battery (with the correct equipment and techniques) is required to verify if this is the cause of the problem. (computer systems do all kinds of irrational things when they start getting delirious from malnutrition)

Engine light on

Knowing what year, make and model would help, but... If there hasn't been a change in how the auto is running, you don't really have to feel it's a four alarm fire to get it to a shop. Don't fuel the auto while it's running, this will cause the light to come on too. Disconnect the ground on your battery and that should reset the computer, this doesn't always work for newer models. Have you serviced the auto; change oil, air filter(s), fuel filter? Not doing those can cause lots of issues too.

Tries to turn over but won't start. The service engine soon light now comes on and the battery light also. These did not come on previous and it has worked great. I got the oil changed a few weeks ago at...

Hello your battery light is an indication battery is not being charge cause your alternator , will cause the battery light check the belt is it is on and good boost and use a volt meter you should have 12.7 volts up to 13.79 if lower witch i strongly suspect you will need to change alternator and your battery all you can do is charge it and see if it will hold a charge when a alternator does what yours did it usually finishes the battery.Your check engine light you will need to have a OBD2 Scan completed to retrieve the engine fault to properly repair most garages charge $25.00 and up.

2002 jeep cherokee engine light on. NO change in performance, curent mileage 71,000. Is it safe to disconnect battery to reset?

Sometimes a small hickup with the emission controls will cause the light to activate. You should try the battery disconnect first , It is by far the cheapest thing to do. If the light returns it may be a factory service light or oil change interval light. In any case most auto parts stores will scan your vehicle for free today . So they can sell you the parts to repair it.
