Question about Onkyo TX-DS595 Receiver

1 Answer

Onkyo Subwoofer. Hi, my Onkyo subwoofer is not working and I think I know the reason. The power rating is 110 volts but I connected it to 220 volts (in India) and probably that's why it's not functioning. Is that a serious problem? Can I fix it without spending much and do you think I can fix it myself? Please let me know. Vish

Didn't you smell the smoke? It's dead. But all is not necessarily lost. I have a 'powered' subwoofer in which the amp died but I just went inside it and ran speaker wires directly to the outside from the driver and I run it with an external amp.

How do I hook up a sansui sw120 sub woofer to onkyo sr507 amplifier

Hello, As long as this is a powered subwoofer you will plug it into the subwoofer preout. This is a purple analog connection on the back of the receiver. Thanks, FJD

My onkyo reciever working very well but last 2 days subwoofer out put off from receiver .... subwoofer is ok

Hi, If you have remote to receiver try hitting the speaker setup selection. I am thinking perhaps a speaker setting was inadvertantly taqmpered with. In speaker settings you will have such things as distance setting-speaker size-delay etc..then you should come to a selection for whether or not a subwoofer is used ie: subwoofer : on, off.. I hope this has been of some use and thank you for choosing FixYa,Good luck, Prodzilla

Garbled / feedback sounds from powered subwoofer

The surround processing portion of the unit has a problem. In either stereo or direct mode, the digital procesing is bypassed. This could be just the surround processing IC, but that IC may not be available as a separate part. I would suggest that you bring this unit to an authorized Onkyo service center for an estimate.

Will skw204 power sub work with my txsr605 onkyo

yes here is the manual for it.
http://63.148.251.135/redirect_service.cfm?type=own_manuals&file=SKW204_En.pdf

now you will see this picture on page 5
768816d.jpg now where it says 6 this is your line input. Now you will plug in a subwoofer cable to this and on back of your receiver to the subwoofer output. and you now must enable the subwoofer option in the setup menu of receiver i think it would be under speaker configuration.

Subwoofer not working on onkyo tx-sr600

Have you connected the Subwoofer out to the "Pre-out Subwoofer" on the left bottom corner jack(looking from the back)?

Have you set subwoofer out in the menu(under speaker settings or similar menu you will find all the channels that you have connected and here you should have "YES" for the subwoofer)?

Hello,

Is the subwoofer got a power? If not then troubleshoot the input power maybe fuse damage.

if there is power, EXamine the connection from the woofer to the output of the source. check the jacket of the of termination.

Very low ouput from subwoofer preout

The problem was that some subwoofers (inluding my velodyne model) cannot process the LFE signals through the line level inputs on its amps, so the other way to run your subwoofer is to run the front left and right speaker outputs from your receiver to the speaker-level inputs on your sub, and then plug your front and left speakers into the soeaker level outputs on the sub. you have to set the onkyo receiver to "Subwoofer: No". that way the LFE signals are sent through the front speaker channels and you will get the same BASS output as if using the line-level input. O So yes it does require a bit more speaker cable, but it works fine now.
