    Hello
You owns a Westinghouse LCD computer monitor I understands. Please remeber, there is no serviceable parts inside it, which can be get repaired by you. Most of the integrated circuits, either it an anologue to digital or a digital to analogue, are very static to external induced voltages; even the LCD screen of a computer monitor. If you try to repair it without taking proper care, which should be taken when repairing LCD displays, the thing will go more worse than you can imagine. In otherwords, it will be get damaged for ever and turn irrepairable. Unlike LCD TVs, monitors have special internal circuits, which are prtotected, which should not be touched without proper measuring instruments, or ciruit knowledge and experience. It needs special equipments like SMD resoldering station and so on, which is not afforadable even to a well equiped private technician.
It is best for you to contact the nearest authorised service center of Westinghouse I recomends. Still you wants to repair it by yoursef, inform me through Fixya, and I will assist you, bu for anymore further troubles more it than now, I have no responsibility. OK.

If your TV is an LCD TV you need to reset the main CPU of the TV to do it,open the back cover of your TV and acces the main board at the mainboard, look for the reset button soldered on the board it is a small switch called tap switch.while the power of the tv is on press this button twice until the system is reset now power on again the TV this should work again normal..( be carefull of the high voltage when doing this)

Vertical multicolored lines appear. Sometimes there are couple of vertical white stips and vertical lines

Connect an external monitor to your laptop. If the problem appears only on the display of the laptop and not on the external monitor in the same time that means the video card is ok and the problem could be : the screen of the laptop or the invertor or the cable that attaches the screen to the mainboard. Have it checked by a professional.

My 3 year old shot water at the screen of my LCD tv. Showed the picture for awhile, then went white, now there are multicolored vertical lines. Will it dry out? How can I repair it?

lines in the screen means the screen itself is bad and would need to be replaced. No other way around it. If your TV is still under warranty you may want to contact Samsung and try to get it replaced thru them but if they see any damage they won't cover it so keep that in mind. Multiple lines on screen

Try connecting an external monitor to the your laptop and see if the vertical line is also present on the monitor. If the monitor display is fine, then your laptop’s LCD display panel is defective. If the monitor also displays the vertical line, then your problem is with either the video card or motherboard located inside your laptop. Not sure if the Compaq Presario has an external monitor plug, but if it does the above procedure can be applied to that one as well.

Vertical multicolored lines covering the whole screen

Just a shot in the dark, but if you are using component video cables, double check that they are in the correct inputs and outputs. If this doesn't work or you are not using component video cables then I don't have any other ideas as of now.

Image being displayed is all colored vertical lines

I had this problem a lot on Labtops. The problem is that it has been unliquifed in the screen. This means that the screen has been damaged or has got really hot. Also its has been on for along time. LCDs go bad real quick and can be a hassle when you need the infomation in the thing and have no display. When I had this problem on my labtop, I used the external bay to use another monitor so I can work on it. So I say that nothing can be done to fix it. The only way to see your stuff on there is to use the video out on the recorder and try to check your stuff. That multicolor lines you saw is becoming major right now in LCD displays. I hope this solves your problem.
